Flack Keeps Up the Pressure

Layne Flack raised to 175,000, and Daniel Makowsky called. Flop came {A-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}. Both checked. The turn was the {8-Hearts}. Both checked again.

The river was the {2-Diamonds}. Makowsky checked, Flack bet 200,000, and Makowsky let it go.

Alioto Doubles Through Flack

Layne Flack and Dario Alioto saw a flop of {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{Q-Spades} from the blinds. Flack checked, Alioto bet 105,000, and Flack called. The turn was the {A-Diamonds}. Flack checked quickly. Alioto then bet the pot -- 300,000. Flack reraised enough to put Alioto all in, and he called.

Flack: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Spades}{2-Hearts}
Alioto: {K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{3-Clubs}

The river didn't help Flack, and Alioto had doubled up to over 1.2 million. Flack still has nearly 2 million.

It's Building

A sense of tension surrounds the final four as we are now right at the business end of the tournament. Poker tournaments in general are top heavy in terms of payouts and this is where the jumps between payouts are the greatest. Factor all this in, it’s no wonder things are tense out there.

Friendly Poker

All four players limped to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Layne Flack bet 200,000 from under the gun/the cutoff, and took the pot.

On the next hand, Flack got a walk in his big blind.

Friendly for Flack, anyhow.

The Last Orbit

1. A limped pot. Daniel Makowsky and Jacabo Fernandez checked down a board of {K-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}, and Makowsky took it with 6-5-x-x.

2. From the blinds, Fernandez and Layne Flack saw a flop of {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}. Fernandez checked, Flack bet 100,000, and Fernandez folded.

3. Dario Alioto got a walk in his big blind.

4. Flack raised to 175,000 from the button, and took the blinds.

Riding the Rush

Jacobo Fernandez limped, and both blinds -- Dario Alioto and Daniel Makowsky -- came along. The flop was {J-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Alioto checked, and Makowsky bet 150,000. Fernandez then raised pot, putting 600,000 in the middle. Alioto quickly folded.

Makowsky asked how much Fernandez had left -- 260,000. He then counted out his own stack. He had a little over 1 million.

Finally, Makowsky folded. Fernandez is suddenly up to 1,160,000.

River Saves Fernandez

Jacobo Fernandez raised to 175,000 from the button, Layne Flack raised from the small blind to put Fernandez all in, and Fernandez called.

Flack: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Spades}
Fernandez: {A-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{10-Spades}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{A-Spades}. That ace on the river keeps Fernandez in the game, and he's doubled up to about 910,000. Flack is still the chip leader with 2,135,000.
