Kloeckner Gets One

Kyle Kloeckner raised to 90,000, and Layne Flack called out of the small blind. Both checked down the board of {6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, and a six in Kloeckner's hand was enough to take it.

One for Alioto

Dario Alioto raised to 90,000 from the cutoff, and Layne Flack called from the big blind. The flop came {J-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}. Flack quickly checked, then Alioto deliberately bet 190,000. Flack folded.

Flack Keeps Foot on the Gas

1. Layne Flack raised to 90,000 from middle position, Dario Alioto called from the button, and Kyle Kloeckner also called in the big blind. The flop came {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Kloeckner checked, then Flack quickly bet pot -- 285,000. Both folded, and Flack took it down.

2. Flack limped from under the gun, and it folded around to Jacobo Fernandez who checked in the big blind. The flop came {A-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. Fernandez checked, and Flack bet 60,000. Fernandez folded.

A Breakaway

It had to happen at some point and it's starting to happen now. The only difference is that two horses are breaking away from the field, rather than one.

Do Dario Alioto and Layne Flack have the strength in their legs to stay there until the end? Time will tell.

Nice Flop for Flack

Layne Flack limped, Kyle Kloeckner completed from the small blind, and Jacobo Fernandez raised to 120,000 from the blind. Flack called and Kloeckner folded.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} and Fernandez quickly checked. Flack bet 150,000, and Fernandez folded. Flack showed {K-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}-x-x as he dragged the pot.

The Last Three Hands

1. Kyle Kloeckner raised to 90,000, then Ted Forrest made a pot-sized reraise from the small blind. Kloeckner let it go.

2. Dario Alioto raised to 90,000, and Daniel Makowsky called from the big blind. The flop came {4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{10-Hearts} and both checked. The turn was the {5-Hearts}, and both checked again. The river was the {2-Hearts}. Check-check again. Makowsky showed 7-6-x-x for a straight, and Alioto mucked.

3. Makowsky got a walk in his big blind.

Michael Guzzardi Eliminated in 7th Place ($90,267)

Michael Guzzardi - 7th Place
Michael Guzzardi - 7th Place
Layne Flack limped from the button, and Michael Guzzardi raised pot to 120,000 from the small blind. Ted Forrest folded from the big blind, and Flack called.

The flop came {2-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and Guzzardi put the rest of his chips in. Flack made the call.

Guzzardi: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}
Flack: {K-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}

The turn was the {6-Diamonds}, giving Flack the flush. The {A-Hearts} on the river didn't matter, and Guzzardi is out in seventh.

Happy Dan

After winning that pot, Dan Makowsky has a smile back on his face. It seemed for so long that nothing right was falling for him, and he won very few of the pots on offer. Having chips to play with again may bring back his confidence and subsequently his "A" game.
