Stragglers Arrive

Among some of the late comers to arrive are David Chiu and John "The Razor" Phan, who is donning his newly acquired WSOP bracelet that he won in yesterday's no limit hold'em event. Also noticed in the field are: "Hollywood" Dave Stann, Chip Jett, and Justin Bonomo.

Waggoner Fills, Opponents Don't

Marsha Waggoner's tournament is off to a good start. She managed to draw {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} {J-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {2-Spades} {7-Diamonds} {7-Spades} against two opponents, one who said he had aces in the hole with a straight draw that never came in, the other who had one queen in the hole to match two open queens but was unable to fill up.

Action Seems to Follow Anna

With a bet and call all the way through the last round of betting, Anna Wroblewski mistakenly thought she had lost a hand that would have left her with only 45 in chips. However, the dealer was quick to point out she had in fact won the hand with a club flush over her opponents Aces up. The pot brought Anna's stack up to around 1,200 in chips as she mentioned to our field reporter that this was her first stud tournament.

Chiu Doubles Through Friedman

It was a rough start to the tournament for David Chiu, who found himself short-stacked and all in against Perry Friedman by fourth street. Friedman showed {4-Diamonds} {J-Spades} {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds} for a pair of sevens against Chiu's {K-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {K-Spades} {9-Clubs} pair of kings. Chiu went on to make kings and fours, good enough to beat Friedman's sevens and sixes.

Chiu is still in trouble with only 950 chips.

Huck Chips Up

Huck Seed is slowly chipping up in today's tournament. He called a completion on third street with the {K-Spades} against his opponent's {7-Clubs}, then bet fourth street when he caught the {6-Diamonds} against his opponent's {4-Diamonds}. Seed check-called fifth and sixth streets, catching the {A-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} against his opponents' {9-Clubs} {J-Spades}. Both players checked the river; Seed opened up {K-Hearts} {6-Spades} {4-Spades} for kings and sixes. His opponent mucked.
