Tatalovich Out

Richard Tatalovich started with split tens, which must have looked pretty good with his short stack. Unfortunately for him, his opponent started with rolled up jacks. Tatalovich never improved better than two pair, tens and nines. He is out less then ten spots from the money.

Men "the Master" Nguyen Eliminated

Men "the Master" Nguyen has exited the Brasilia Room. He brought it in with the {2-Clubs}, then reraised after one player completed and Max Troy raised. Troy 3-bet, Nguyen called, and they were heads up to fourth street. Nguyen wound up check-calling the rest of the way until sixth street, where he raised for his last 2,400 chips. Their boards:

Nguyen: {J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} / {2-Clubs} {4-Diamonds} {10-Clubs} {8-Hearts}
Troy: {Q-Spades} {Q-Hearts} / {7-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {A-Hearts}

It was Nguyen's buried jacks against Troy's buried queens. Neither player improved on the river. Nguyen is out.

Hennigan Eliminates Another

A frustrated Cory Zeidman has hit the rail, courtesy of John Hennigan. We picked up the action on sixth street:

Hennigan: x-x / {9-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}
Zeidman: x-x / {Q-Diamonds} {9-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

Hennigan, with the better board, led out for a bet on sixth street. Zeidman held his last 1,900 chips in his hand.

"That totally sucks," Zeidman said. "That's the hand I put you on. I could be drawing dead." He thought a bit longer, then made the call.

Hennigan opened {7-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} in the hole, for a made diamond flush. Zeidman turned over {Q-Hearts} {4-Hearts} for a pair of queens. He was indeed drawing dead. He pushed his cards in towards the dealer, got up and left the table before the river was dealt.

Hennigan is now over 20,000 in chips.

Grizzle Gone

Bryan Devonshire
Bryan Devonshire
Sam Grizzle and Bryan Devonshire got involved in a pot that cost Grizzle his tournament life.

Grizzle had {10-Spades} {A-Spades} / {Q-Spades} {5-Diamonds} against Devonshire's {K-Diamonds} {2-Diamonds} / {A-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} .

Both players were looking to improve and third street brought Grizzle the {8-Diamonds} and Devonshire the {J-Hearts}. Fourth street didn't make either player a hand as Grizzle got the {6-Spades} and Devonshire the {7-Clubs}.

The river dealt Grizzle the {10-Clubs} for a pair of tens, however, Devonshire got the {A-Clubs} to trump Grizzle's tens.

Grizzle was one of the last three out of the money.

Charles Moore Ducks the River

It was a close call for Charles Moore with just 43 players remaining in today's field. He got all of his chips in the middle on fifth street, holding {K-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} / {K-Diamonds} {3-Hearts} {2-Hearts}. He was called by Owen Mitchell, who showed {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} / {J-Hearts} {9-Clubs} {10-Diamonds}. Moore caught the {7-Diamonds} on sixth street and the {3-Spades} on seventh street to river two pair, kings and threes. Mitchell caught the {K-Hearts} on sixth street, giving him a huge draw to improve on the river and knock out Moore. Instead he caught the {5-Spades} to finish with a single pair of aces.

Moore now has about 17,000 in chips.

Hand-for-Hand

With 41 players remaining in the field, we are officially on the money bubble. The next player eliminated will go home with a story, but no cash. Everyone else will be guaranteed at least $2,340.

Owen Mitchell Bubbles Out

The bubble boy for Event #35 is Owen Mitchell, the player who missed a big draw against Charles Moore just ten minutes ago. Mitchell check-called Ed Fernandez the whole way to sixth straight with split tens, getting the last of his stack in on sixth. Fernandez led the betting and the hand the whole way with split jacks. Neither player improved on the river. Mitchell was eliminated in 41st place.

The rest of the field is now in the money.
