Paul-Ambrose's pocket queens ran into Pagano's pocket kings and that brought a sudden end to Paul-Ambrose's tournament. Pagano now sits with 40,000.

Preflop, from middle position, Rolf Slotboom made it 2,575 to go and two players moved all in for an additional 2k on top. Rolf made the call and showed A-Q while up against A-10 and {10-Hearts}

. The flop ran {A-Hearts}

giving Rolf top two, while also opening the possibilities for a straight and a flush draw as well. The {2-Spades}

on the turn was no help to anyone, but the {5-Hearts}

on the river gave his opponent a 10-high flush. After the hand, Rolf is down to 16,000.

Alex Jacob Takes a Big Pot From Cody Slaubaugh

Alex Jacob raised to 2,025 from the cutoff and Cody Slaubaugh called in the big blind. They both checked the {4-Spades}

flop and when the {Q-Diamonds}

turned Slaubaugh bet 2,900. Jacobs raised to 6,300 and Cody made the call. The river was the {K-Spades}

, Slaubaugh checked then called Alex's 6,300 bet. Jacob turned over {Q-Spades}

for the flush and Slaubaugh mucked, and that pot boosted Jacob's stack to 39,000.

JC Tran led out for 3,025 preflop and was called by a single opponent. The flop ran {K-Spades}

and Tran was all in. Tran showed {A-Hearts}

, which held up, and Tran took the pot down.

After the hand, Tran was up to 55,000.

We started the day with 2,447 entrants and we're already down to 300 players remaining. In this level alone, we lost nearly 100 players. We have only 102 to go until we reach the money, and with two hours of play still left, it's almost a certainty that it will be reached tonight.

A general trend in these tournaments is for player eliminations to come quick once the money is reached. At the pace this event has been moving, getting to the money is almost a scary thought.

And play has resumed. We've two more levels to go until we wrap up for the night, and with 282 players left it's possible we'll reach the money tonight.

It's Been a Long Day

We've just come back from our break, and about five minutes after the announcement that cards should be in the air, we were greeted with, "Players in today's $1,500 event, can I have your attention?" which was quite a surprise, as we weren't expecting an announcement about anything in particular.

"We have a player who has lost his table. He's can't remember where he was seated before the break. If you recognize this player from before the break, please help us get him to his seat."

The remaining 280 players here all began to chuckle, thinking it to be a joke. But it wasn't. There was a man standing near the TD desk who needed to be pointed the right direction. After just a few moments, the kind players at table Blue 16 signaled that his seat was with them, and he made his way in their direction.

While walking to take his seat, the crowd let out a little applause that the lost poker player had found his way.
