Mike Matusow Eliminated in 5th Place ($138,062)

Mike Matusow - 5th Place
Mike Matusow - 5th Place
After tripling up, it all came crashing down very quickly for Mike Matusow. He lost a big pot against Greg Jamison on a board of {4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts} where Matusow called all the way until the river before eventually folding his cards.

After that hand he was left with 290,000 chips and got them all in on a flop of {K-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} against Toto Leonidas.

Leonidas held {A-Hearts}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts} for the lead in the hand as Matusow tabled {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and the crowd waited anxiously for Matusow to spike something on the river but it was a little anticlimactic as the {8-Diamonds} left Leonidas with the scooped pot much to the disappointment of the crowd on the rail.

Mike Matusow exits in 5th place for $138,062 in prize money.

Mike Matusow Triples Up

Mike Matusow was all in on the flop and was called by both David Benyamine and Greg Jamison. The turn and river were checked.

Board: {Q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds}

Mike starts screaming, "No! Not the queen. No queen."

Benyamine throws out the {Q-Clubs} and shows the {2-Spades} {5-Spades} {J-Clubs} for a set of queens. Matusow looks at his cards, gets wide eyed and starts jumping like a school child. "Oh Crap! Oh Crap! I rivered the nut flush! I rivered the nut flush!" Matusow turned over the {K-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} {A-Spades} {2-Clubs} for the nut flush, and then starts running around the table. Everyone started cheering and clapping for 'The Mouth'.

After the hand, Matusow is up to 540,000 chips.

Matusow Survives

Mike Matusow has survived another all in confrontation after Greg Jamison had raised and Jason Gray reraised on Matusow's big blind. Matusow tossed his last chips into the middle and prayed.

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} as the two live players checked to the river where Gray fired out a bet. Jamison folded as Gray showed {A-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs} for the nut low while Matusow held {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{A-Hearts}{K-Hearts} for two pair to take the high and stay alive!

Matusow Rolls Dice

David Benyamine raised it up from under-the-gun and Mike Matusow made the call from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Spades}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} and Matusow checked to Benyamine who made a continuation bet. Matusow made the call.

The turn brought the {4-Diamonds} and Matusow checked and again Benyamine fired out a bet.

Matusow went into the tank with only 250,000 behind "That's a lot of money David" he said, before taking a special poker dice out of his pocket - "Let's roll the dice!"

Matusow rolled his dice and it landed "RERAISE" - "Well I'm not doing that!" exclaimed Matusow to the giggles of the gallery. He rolled the dice again and once again it landed "RERAISE" - "Again?!?" screamed Matusow.

Matusow then said "I don't think I have any outs" and folded his cards. Benyamine showed 7-7 in the hole for a full house to take down the pot and leave Matusow working the short stack once again.
