Greco Sneaks In

After forgetting his ID, a short-stacked Michael 'Don't Call Me Beppe' Greco was informed that he would be unable to play, even though he had his credit card, player's card and all sorts of other card based wallet fillers in his possession.

"This is ridiculous, the press know who I am, all the players at my table know me. I made a genuine mistake. I've got no chips, I'll get blinded away." Even my good self suggested a quick Google to reveal the minor celebrity status that Greco possesses in his home nation of England.

With his pleas continuing to fall on stony ground, Greco may have been contemplating making the long trip back to his hotel room at the Wynn, but decided to make one last plea for mercy before the current supervisor of this event.

Sadly, I was in no position to eavesdrop on that exchange, but the famous Greco charm must have been working overtime as the former Eastender did indeed take his seat with just seconds to spare and is now currently back to nurturing his struggling stack of 18,000.

Double K.O.

Like a one-two from Mike Tyson, two players have hit the deck in one hand, Amato Galasso the player donning the gloves and dealing the knockout punches.

His unfortunate victims were Michael Cordell {5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Paul Quade {8-Hearts}{8-Spades}, both of which succumbed to Galasso's American Airlines on a {7-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{6-Hearts} board.

Gowen Survives

Attack of the Clonies
Attack of the Clonies
Clonie Gowen has doubled up her short stack, finding her self all in with A-J versus A-3 and cementing victory with a jack on the flop.

Gowen now on 13,000.

Howard Having a Good Day

One player who is having a good first level is Chris Howard, who has doubled up twice in the first three hands to put him up to around 41,000 -- and then managed to eliminate an opponent with the worst hand a few hands later, putting him on 60,000.

First, he bet every street of a {4-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {5-Hearts} {5-Spades} {6-Diamonds} board, his {7-Spades} {8-Clubs} making a gutshot straight on the river to win the hand.

Then the next hand he found {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} in the small blind, and got all his chips in against the cutoff who was holding sixes and received no help from the board.

A few hands later, Howard raised to 4,400 from mid position and the cutoff made it 16,000 with just 3,000 behind. Howard put him all in, and was dominated with {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades} to his opponent's {A-Spades} {K-Hearts} -- but the board came down {Q-Spades} {3-Hearts} {8-Spades} {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} to give him two pair and knock out the other guy.

Roy Winston Eliminated

Roy Winston
Roy Winston
Roy Winston failed to eliminate a short stack with {A-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}, David MacHowsky's {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs} rivering a flush on a {3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{2-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} board to lap up the pot. As a result, MacHowsky doubled through to 6,500.

Several hands later, Winston came over the top of Jan Von Halle's button raise from the big blind with {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}, only to be looked up by {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}. But again, Winston witnessed another big hand crumble, the {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts} board giving Von Halle the pot, and Winston the door.
