Allen Kessler Picks Up a Nice Pot

The under-the-gun player made a standard opening raise and Allen Kessler called from middle position. The flop came {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} and the raiser moved all in for 1,700. Kessler made the call and the players showed:

The turn and river blanked and Kessler now sits on a stack of 7,000.

Greg Raymer Eliminated by Steve Paul-Ambrose

Greg Raymer and Steve Paul-Ambrose went heads up to a flop of {9-Clubs} {9-Hearts} {7-Hearts}. Ambrose was first to act and he bet 150. Raymer made the call.

The turn came the {4-Hearts} and Paul-Ambrose bet again, this time 300. Raymer called.

The river fell the {A-Diamonds} and Paul-Ambrose bet 600. Raymer moved all in and Ambrose made the call.

Raymer showed {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} but Paul-Ambrose tabled {A-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} for the full house.

A Dophin, Swimming Amongst the Sharks

Jason Taylor, star defensive end for the Miami Dolphins, is another one of the notables in today's field. Taylor tells us this is his first live tournament and says he'd like to play more depending on what happens with his NFL career.

Antonio Esfandiari Eliminated

The "Magician" just pulled a vanishing act from this tournament. Antonio Esfandiari just ran his {Q-Spades} {Q-Diamonds} into the {A-Clubs} {A-Spades} of his opponent. The money went in preflop after an Esfandiari reraise all in. He got no help from the {8-Diamonds} {7-Hearts} {3-Hearts} {7-Spades} {3-Spades} board and was eliminated.

Wahlroos Wants to Play

Thomas Wahlroos is currently outside the tournament area watching the Euro '08 soccer matches while waiting to see if he'll be allowed to register for this event. With 2,720 players currently in, registration has reached its cap.

Saul Slips

Saul checked again, his opponent moved all in for 1,425 and Saul called. Saul's opponent showed the {K-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} for the nut straight and Saul mucked. He's now down to 2,050.

Joe Sebok Crippled

Joe Sebok raised to 300 from early position. The action folded around to the player on the button and he raised to 750. Sebok made the call and they took a flop heads up.

The flop came {10-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} {5-Hearts}. Sebok checked and the button bet 800. Sebok pushed for 2,150 and was called. Joe tabled {J-Clubs} {J-Spades} but was behind the {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} of his opponent. The turn and river blanked and Sebok was left with just 600 chips.
