Jerry Yamachika Doubles Up

Dan Lacourse was on the button. Charles Wood raised under the gun to 125,000. Action was folded around to Jerry Yamachika, who reraised all in for 508,000 total. Charles Wood said call, but the action was not on him. Marc Fluss was still yet to act. Fluss thinks for a couple of minutes and then folds. Wood still called Yamachika's all in.

Yamachika: {J-Diamonds} {J-Clubs}
Wood: {10-Spades} {10-Hearts}

Board: {K-Hearts} {4-Spades} {8-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds}

When the river card hit, Fluss jumped out of his seat as if he would have won the hand.

After the hand, Yamachika moved up to third in chips to 1,074,000.

Wood Doubles Through Lacourse

The button is with Jerry Yamachika in Seat 9. The action passes to Dale Eberle who min-raised to 60,000 before Dan Lacourse made it 160,000 to go from the cutoff position. It folded to Charles Wood who made the call for his last 120,000 chips in the big blind as Eberle stepped aside.

Wood: {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Lacourse: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}

The flop was a good one for Wood as it arrived {A-Spades}{5-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} to give Wood additional straight outs. The turn also improved his chances as the {Q-Spades} gave Wood outs to counterfeit Lacourse’s pair. However he didn’t need them as the {K-Diamonds} on the river sealed the deal and gave Wood a double up as his entourage cheered from the rail! Wood is now up to about 260,000 chips.

Ed Clark Eliminated in 8th Place ($49,450)

Marc Fluss was on the button. It was folded around to Fluss, who raised to 150,000. Ed Clark was in the big blind and went into the tank to make a decision. After a few minutes, Clark announces all in. Fluss wastes no time making the call.

Fluss: {9-Spades} {9-Diamonds}
Clark: {A-Spades} {7-Diamonds}

Fluss and Clark shake hands wishing each other good luck.

Board: {Q-Diamonds} {5-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {9-Hearts}

Ed Clark becomes our 8th place finisher, taking home $49,450.

Recent Hands

In recent action, Fred Berger raised it up preflop to 75,000 and took down the blinds and antes uncontested.

Next hand, the action folded to Peter Silverstein who completed from the small blind. Dale Eberle then raised an additional 200,000 to force Silverstein out of the pot.

We then saw Charles Wood move all in from the cutoff and he also took down the blinds and antes.

Finally the only hand that saw a flop was when the action folded to Fred Berger in the small blind who completed and Dan Lacourse checked his option.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and Berger fired out 70,000 to take down the pot.

Silverstein Climbs Out the Cellar

Peter Silverstein has been using aggression to try and climb out of the cellar just before the break. He moved all in on back to back hands and all opponents folded. Nobody wanted to risk doubling up the short stack.

Charles Wood is now the short stack with 356,000 in chips.

Action Since Break

The first few hands since break have been mostly raise and take it with two exceptions.

On one hand both Fred Berger and Dan Lacourse saw the flop and checked it to the river. With four clubs on board on the river, Lacourse bet out and Berger folded.

The next hand we got to the turn in a hand between Lacourse and Jerry Yamachika. On the turn with a board of {3-Clubs} {2-Diamonds} {8-Clubs} {8-Spades}, Yamachika bet out 50,000 and Lacourse folded.
