The bad beats have caught up with Terrance Chan at the worst time. Just after losing that pot with aces against ace-king, this happened:

He and Jean-Claude Perrot were at it again just a few hands later. This time, Chan opened up with a raise, and Perrot popped him back with a second raise. Chan moved all in for a total of 85,000, and Perrot made the call.

Perrot: {A-Clubs} {Q-Spades}
Chan: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts}

For the second time against the same opponent, Chan has a stranglehold on a big pot before any board cards are out. And for the second time, he comes up wanting at the end.

With the action complete, the board unluckily runs out {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {7-Diamonds} {8-Hearts}. Perrot's triple queens rob Chan of yet another big pot, this time enough to stack him right down to zero. After taking those two gnarly beats, Chan walked out of the room under a black cloud.
