Just Another Suckout

Albert Iversen was just involved in another large pot, something he must be growing accustomed to over the past couple hours.

In this one, he opens the betting with a raise to 15,000 from early position. Phung Ngo calls in middle position, and Jean-Claude Perrot makes it 45,000 from the cutoff seat. Iversen moves all in when the betting comes back to him, a total bet of 167,000. Ngo folds, and Perrot makes the call, having his man covered.

Iversen: {Q-Hearts} {Q-Spades}
Perrot: {K-Hearts} {K-Clubs}

Iversen is behind and at risk of elimination. Yet again, the worst hand is going to win this pot. Right on the flop, Iversen makes a set and he never looks back. The board runs out {Q-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} {8-Diamonds} {5-Clubs} {A-Spades}. Iversen snatches victory from the jaws of defeat, and more than doubles up to approximately 350,000. Perrot, despite getting it in way ahead, has been knocked back to 95,000.
