Bill Chen was all in on fourth street in a pot with Doyle Brunson and Katja Thater. Thater and Brunson were heads up on the side. Fifth street was checked and Thater bet sixth street. Seventh street had three bets between Thater and Brunson and when all was said and done, the players showed:
With just 4,000 in chips left, Katja Thater had three-quarters of her chips all in in the ante with the other 1,000 all in on third street. Things were looking good for her on sixth street when she made a straight, but Raymond Davis made a full house with the next card to come. Katja Thater headed for the rail while Davis counted his chips which now approach the 325,000 mark.
The exact action is unclear but Gene Fisher was all in against Ralph Perry and headed to the river he was in the lead. Fisher showed for two pair.
Perry had showing and after the river was dealt, he slowly peeked at his last card. In what might be perceived as a slow-roll, Perry squeezed his river card ever so slowly... so slowly that some players at the table told him to just flip it over already... before slapping the down and yelling "Boom!"
Despite the theatrics, Gene Fisher was forced to make his exit and did so gracefully.
After the hand, Perry was adamant that he did not slow-roll Fisher, despite what some spectators thought.
Marcel Luske completed on third street and both Chad Brown and Farzad Bonyadi called. On fourth, Luske led out again and was called in both spots. Fifth street brought another bet from Luske, Brown folded, and Bonyadi called. On sixth Luske bet all in for 28,000 and Bonyadi called.
Luske showed for a pair of kings, but Bonyadi made trip sevens with , sending Luske to the rail.
Erick Lindgren just tripled up in a hand against James Mackey and Barry Greenstein. There was a bet on every street and although Mackey threw his hand away on the river, Greenstein looked Lindgren up only to have him show . Greenstein mucked and Lindgren is back in the mix with about 355,000
"I get on the horse, I get off the horse, I get on the horse, I get off the horse. Maybe I gotta get on a goat!" said Billy "The Croc" Argyros as the cards went in the air on what would be his final hand of the tournament.
Billy Argyros: (X-X) (X)
Edwin Ting: (X-X) (X)
Huckleberry Seed: (X-X) (X)
Argyros completed on third street, Ting called and Seed called. On fourth street, Argyros tossed in his last 7,000, Ting called, Seed raised and Ting called. Betting continued on the side between Ting and Seed, with Ting betting out on fifth, sixth and seventh streets and getting called down by Seed.
Argyros showed -- trip queens, but not enough to beat
Ting's sevens full of sixes with . Seed mucked and Argyros packed up his menagerie of crocodiles and headed for the exit.
The pot was three-bet on third street, with Phil Ivey ending up all in against Andy Bloch. Ivey made tens full of kings, neither player made a low, and Ivey tripled up to 140,000. Bloch was left with 558,000.
Action folded around to Scotty Nguyen on the button and he raised. Alex Kostritsyn flat-called from the big blind and the two took a flop heads up.
The flop came and Kostritsyn bet all in. Nguyen made the call and the players showed:
Nguyen:
Kostritsyn:
Kostritsyn was in good shape to double up when the hit the turn. But the cruel river brought a and took his hand from first to worst. Nguyen's aces were best and Alex Kostritsyn was eliminated.
Ralph Perry just took a hit to his stack when he doubled up Brandon Adams. The two were all in preflop, Adams with and Perry with . The board ran out and Adams doubled up to 105,000.
