Don't Bluff Bloch

The Unbluffable Andy Bloch
The Unbluffable Andy Bloch
Omaha-8:

Andy Bloch raised from UTG, Michael Mizrachi called from the small blind and David Oppenheim called from the big blind. The flop was {Q-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Spades}. Mizrachi and Oppenheim checked to Bloch who bet. Both of them called. The turn was the {J-Hearts}. Mizrachi led out and both Oppenheim and Bloch called. The river was the {J-Spades}. Mizrachi bet, Oppenheim folded and Bloch called.

"F*ckin' river" said Mizrachi as he showed {2-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair that was counterfeited on the river. Bloch tabled {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {5-Clubs} {4-Hearts} for the same two pair, jacks and fives, but with an ace kicker. No low was possible and Bloch scooped the pot.

"Everyone keeps trying to tell them, 'Don't bluff me!'" laughed Bloch.

Right about then, Mike Matusow and Mike Wattel wandered up to the table.

"Hey, guess who tried to bluff Andy?" Wattel said to Matusow as he pointed to The Grinder.

Matusow exploded with laughter. "You can't bluff Andy!" he said, cackling away. "Who stakes that guy?" he wondered aloud.

Phil Ivey almost imperceptibly looked up at them from under the brim of his baseball cap.

Chop It Up

Omaha-8:

Action folded around to Phil Ivey on the button and he raised. Michael DeMichele called from the blind and they went heads up to the flop.

The flop came {J-Hearts} {8-Clubs} {2-Hearts} and DeMichele check-raised Ivey. Ivey called and the {5-Clubs} hit the turn. DeMichele led out on fourth street and Ivey came along. The river was the {4-Hearts} and again DeMichele bet. Ivey called and the players showed:

Ivey: {A-Spades} {5-Spades} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs}
DeMichele: {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {3-Hearts}

Ivey's wheel was good for the low while DeMichele's six-high straight took down the high.

James Mackey completed on third street, Gabe Kaplan raised and Mackey called. Kaplan checked-called bets from Mackey on fourth, fifth, and sixth streets and checked dark before his seventh street card landed. Mackey checked behind.

Kaplan showed {10-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {4-Spades} for a set of tens and Mackey mucked. Kaplan is now up to 420,000 while Mackey has fallen to 175,000.

Mickey Appleman Eliminated

Mickey Appleman
Mickey Appleman
Razz:

A short-stacked Mickey Appleman was all in on third street against Raymond Davis. When all the cards were dealt, Raymond's hand was almost bulletproof as he ended up with a (X) {7-?} {6-?} {5-?} {3-?} {2-?} {A-?}.

Appleman was drawing dead by sixth street and stood up and walked away. He finished with a ({7-?}) ({9-?}) ({2-?}) {Q-?} {10-?} {A-?} {7-?} and was eliminated.
