After shoving all his chips in preflop against a raise and a call, Raymer was called by a single opponent, who turned over pocket jacks. Raymer's pocket nines were crushed, and as the board failed to help by the river, Raymer added a rebuy to the tally.
One wouldn't really expect to hear the phrase, "Seat open, 18!" within the first 25 minutes of today's event. However, that was just the case as a player was eliminated from the event and opted not to rebuy.
Cliff "JohnnyBax" Josephy is in the field today, as is PokerRoad's Bart Hanson. Amnon Filippi and Kevin "BeL0WaB0Ve" Saul are at the same table, as are Chad Brown and Michael Binger.
After already showing up nearly 20 minutes late, Mike "The Mouth" Matusow found himself all in after a player from the cutoff bumped to 500 preflop. Matusow shoved all in and was instantly called by the player, who turned over pocket eights. The pocket pair held up against Matusow's A-J and Matusow added a rebuy.

Today's event is taking place within only two of the four sections of the Amazon room: the Blue and Orange sections. The Orange section seems to have an anomaly, as 13 tables remain completely barren with only 24 minutes left in the first level.
We're being told that it is because there are 150 players still registering for this event, yet thus far none have been seated. In an event where players are attempting to gobble up as many chips as they can, it would seem that these players need be seated as soon as possible.
With less than an hour and a half before the rebuy period is over, we'll have to wait and see how these players adjust to their late entry.
Men "The Master" Nguyen is playing today, and I know that because I heard him laughing halfway across the room. Phil Ivey is playing and I know that because I've been given three or four hands where he shoved all in preflop and took down the pot. David Benyamine is playing today, as are Shannon Shorr, Raymond Davis, and Vanessa Rousso.
Dario Minieri has fired all in blind for the last four hands. He was finally called, and busted, forcing his first rebuy--an interesting strategy that seemed to be working. We'll continue to update if the practice continues.
