Thomas King Eliminates Andrew Gentile

Thomas King has quickly built up his stack during the first two hours of play and his latest acquisition came at the expense of Andrew Gentile. They were all in before the flop with King's pocket queens holding over Gentile's pocket fives, and when the board ran out {3-Clubs} {6-Hearts} {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {10-Clubs} Gentile was out and King's stack rose to 120,000.

Richard Kirsch Eliminates Steven Kerr

Kerr moved all in from middle position and Kirsch called from the small blind. His {A-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} had Kerr's {A-Hearts} {6-Hearts} dominated and when the board ran out {7-Diamonds} {K-Spades} {7-Spades} {8-Spades} {Q-Clubs} Kirsch took down the pot. Both players had nearly identical stacks and the chips had to be counted down before it was discovered that the stacks actually WERE identical. Both players had exactly 34,500, and Kerr's stack was pushed to Kirsch.

Lars Kurstjens Eliminated

A short-stacked Lars Kurstjens moved all in from under the gun. Action folded around to John Munson in the big blind who called instantly. Kurstjens tabled {K-Spades} {K-Diamonds} but was in bad shape against the {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} of Munson.

The flop came {8-Spades} {5-Spades} {4-Spades} giving Kurstjens a flush draw but the turn and river came the {7-Hearts} and {10-Hearts} respectively which were no help to him and he was eliminated.

Dan Heimiller Eliminates Ted Fiorito

After Dan Heimiller called Ted Fiorito's raise the two saw a flop of {6-Diamonds} {K-Diamonds} {2-Spades}. Fiorito, holding {K-?} {J-?}, moved all in. Heimiller, holding pocket deuces, made the call. Fiorito couldn't find a miracle and was eliminated while Heimiller is now up to 97,000.

Ladies Lucky Again For Vanessa Rousso

A few hands after she won a pot after flopped a pair of queens Vanessa Roussou doubled up when she was dealt pocket queens to Rick Ribble Jr's pocket nines. Rousso's queens held up and she doubled to 63,000.

She gave Ribble a few of those chips back a bit later when he moved in his last 8,000 with {Q-Diamonds} {9-Diamonds} and Rousso called in the big blind with {K-Spades} {10-Hearts}. Ribble flopped trips and turned quads and doubled up to around 20,000.

Which he promptly lost in a hand with Peter Marr when his {K-Clubs} {9-Clubs} failed to improve against Marr's {A-Spades} {2-Spades}. These last two hands came as I was writing up the first hand between Ribble and Rousso, which gives you an idea of the rock-em sock-em brand of action we're seeing at the start of play today.

A Lady for the Lady

Vanessa Rousso picked up a few chips when she moved all in for 16,000 holding {Q-Clubs} {10-Clubs} and was called by the very short Scott Queckboerner holding {K-Clubs} {J-Spades}. Rousso hit top pair on the {9-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {8-Spades} flop and when Scott didn't get help on the turn nor river he was out and Vanessa chipped up to 27,000.
