Sherid Eliminated

From under the gun, Jeff Sherid moved all in for his remaining 10,000 chips. He was called by Kurosh Dejgosha who had {A-Clubs} {K-Clubs} . Sherid was happy to be live with {J-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} .

The flop hit both players when it came {J-Spades} {7-Clubs} {5-Clubs} . Sherid picked up top pair, but his opponent still had two over cards, plus the club flush draw.

The turn made that flush when the {8-Clubs} hit, leaving Sherid drawing dead to the river {10-Diamonds} .

After the hand, Sherid looked cheery, as he said, "Those are the best cards I've seen all day. Good tournament, gentlemen." After a quick nod, he headed off to the payout clerk to pick up his winnings.

Meehan Can't Hit Another Two-Outer

Minneapolis Jim Meehan has been eliminated, losing his newly-acquired chips when he went all in with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} against Neil Scott's {K-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and the board showed {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

On the previous hand, Meehan went all in with {3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} against his opponent's {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs}, but hit a three on the flop to double up.

Phan-tastic

John Phan and Stephen Ladowsky got all their chips into the pot with Ladowsky's {A-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} leading Phan's {K-Clubs} {Q-Diamonds}.

The board hit only Phan, though, when it ran out {9-Clubs} {6-Clubs} {2-Spades} {Q-Hearts} {5-Hearts}, and Ladowsky is sent to the rail.

We're Back

The remaining 88 players have filed back into the room and have taken their seats. The cards are back in the air, and action is underway.

First Break

The players are walking around stretching their legs, as the tournament clock is paused and we are on a 20-minute break.

Pace Crippled and then Triples

Rocco Pace was crippled by Yan Chen after running his {K-Clubs} {K-Spades} into Chen's {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades}.

Chen called Pace's all-in on a flop of {7-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {9-Diamonds}. The turn and river brought no help for Pace, with the {6-Clubs} and {3-Diamonds} dropping.

After the hand Chen moved up to over 95,000 while Pace was crippled and left with 13,000.

Only a few hands later, however, Pace tripled up against Remy Biechel's {A-Spades}{A-Clubs} and Theo Tran's {9-Clubs}{9-Spades} when his {10-Hearts}{9-Hearts} topped both his opponents on a {8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{A-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} board.

With that triple-up Pace moved up 41,000 in chips.

Pawel Clocks 'The Razor'

"The Razor" loses a big one
"The Razor" loses a big one
On a flop of {j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Spades}, Pawel Andrzejewski went all in, forcing John Phan to make a decision for all of his chips. Just as Phan started to ponder the call, Andrzejewski called the clock on Phan. The tournament director counted down 60 seconds, Phan didn't act in time, and his hand was declared dead. Andrzejewski raked in the pot of more than 20,000 to move to 145,000. "The Razor" is down to 37,000.
