DeMichele Draws Against Jamshidi

2-7 Triple Draw:

On the first draw, Rob Hollink took two, Michael DeMichele took three, Sam Farha took 2, and Sirous Jamshidi took two. After the draw, it was checked around to Jamshidi who bet. DeMichele and Farha called.

On the second draw, DeMichele drew two, Farha two, and Jamshidi stood pat. Again it checked to Jamshidi and he again bet. This time, only DeMichele called.

With Jamshidi standing pat once again, DeMichele drew another single card. And then, DeMichele called Jamshidi's bet.

DeMichele: 2-4-6-8-9
Jamshidi: 2-3-5-7-10

DeMichele is up to 39,000.

Chris Reslock Eliminated

Omaha-8:

Chris Reslock was extremely short-stacked and found himself all in in the big blind with {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} against Mel Judah's {A-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}. The board ran out {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{2-Spades}, Judah scooping the pot with queens and jacks, and Reslock was eliminated.

He's now paying off his various last-longer bets around the room.

Jan von Halle..."I'm Out? How?"

2-7 Triple Draw:

After the second draw in 2-7 triple draw, Jan von Halle flipped his hand over and showed the 3-4-5-6-7. Johnny Chan saw this and bet to put von Halle all in. Von Halle was confused as he didn't realize there was another betting round. He called anyway and couldn't quite understand why the pot was shipped to the two-time Main Event champion Chan.

Von Halle must not have realized that straights count against you in 2-7 triple draw and was eliminated because of his mistake. Chan took the pot with a eight low.

Benyamine Plays Razz Blind

David Benyamine

Razz:

A king brings it in, David Benyamine declines to look at his hole cards and puts in a raise with a five up, another player holding a king calls Benyamine's raise and the bring-in folds.

On fourth street, Benyamine catches a ten and his opponent a five. Benyamine checks, his opponent bets, Benyamine raises, and he is called.

On fifth it's a seven for Benyamine and a deuce for his opponent. He bets, and is raised.

"I guess I have to look now," he says, before peering down at pocket queens in the hole. Benyamine shows them and mucks with a laugh.

Three Out of 192

Out of the 192 players who entered this event, only three are women -- Jennifer Harman, Katja Thater, and Vanessa Rousso. That's about 1.5 percent of the field, compared to the 3 percent females usually comprise.

Two women notably missing from this event are Kristy Gazes, who elected to take the day off from the WSOP, and Annie Duke, who is skipping the first week of the series to spend time with her children.

Lester's Two Pair is Good

Omaha-8:

Jason Lester had bet out on a flop of {J-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Spades} into Allen Cunningham and Tony Cousineau. Both players called. The turn checked around when the {6-Clubs} fell off.

On the river of the {3-Diamonds}, Lester bet again and only Cunningham called.

Lester said, "Two pair, tens and threes."

Cunningham was about to muck his hand, but then pulled it back and said, "Just tens and threes?" But then he mucked his hand after all and Lester scooped the pot. He is now at 40,000.

Omaha-8:

On a flop of {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{6-Diamonds} Ted Forrest led out from the small blind, Patrik Antonius raised from the cutoff, Tony G. called from the button, Forrest three-bet, and both Antonius and Tony G called. The turn was the {Q-Diamonds}. Forrest bet, Antonius called and Tony G called. The river was the {6-Clubs}. Forrest bet, Antonius called and Tony G folded.

Antonius turned up {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for tens full of sixes but Forrest rolled over {Q-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {6-Clubs} for quad sixes and took down the pot, increasing his stack to 40,000. Antonius was left on life support with only 5,000.
