Altinbas Alive

Oktay Altinbas just doubled up through Angel Guillen. All of his chips went in the middle on a flop of {J-Spades}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}. Altinbas had {J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Guillen {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}. But the {10-Spades} spiked on the river, giving Altinbas the hand and about 390,000 chips. Guillen still has a big stack of 920,000.

Glines Glides Ahead

Another double up, this time Shawn Glines through Brett Switzer. Glines' {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} held up against Switzer's {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} when the board came nine-high, and Glines is up to 680,000. Switzer is now the tourney's short stack with 85,000.

Brett Switzer Eliminated in 14th Place ($25,824)

Brett Switzer - 14th Place
After Shawn Glines had taken most of his stack, Brett Switzer pushed his last 83,000 in the middle from the button with {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} and Antoine Berube called him from the small blind with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}.

The flop looked benign to Switzer -- {8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}. But the {2-Clubs} on the turn wasn't his favorite card to see. And the {3-Clubs} on the river was just rude.

Berube's flush gives him a total stack of 350,000 at the moment. Meanwhile, Switzer is out in 14th place.

The table folded around to Qinghai Pan who pushed his last 124,000 from the small blind with {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}. Antoine Berube called from the big blind with {A-Spades}{4-Spades}.

The board came {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Spades}, and for the second time in short succession, Berube had eliminated an opponent with a worse starting hand, rivering a flush both times.

Pan is out in 13th place, and Berube now has 480,000.

Jeff Tunkel Eliminated in 12th Place ($35,584)

Bahador Ahmadi raised from middle position, Jeff Tunkel reraised all in from the big blind, and Ahmadi called.

Tunkel showed {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}, and Ahmadi {K-Spades}{K-Diamonds}. The flop came {A-Spades}{J-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, and Tunkel was suddenly way in front. But the turn card changed everything -- {K-Clubs}. The river was the {4-Spades}, and Tunkel is out in 12th.

Ahmadi is our clear chip leader now with nearly 1.5 million.

In a Hand and Not Knowing Wherefore Art Thou

It folded to Angel Guillen who raised 3x to 60,000 from the small blind. Romeo Piro called from the big blind.

The flop came {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}. Guillen checked, Piro bet 75,000, and Guillen called. The turn was the {4-Clubs}. Guillen checked again, this time Piro bet 100,000, then Guillen check-raised to 300,000.

Piro went into the tank. He had only 260,000 left behind. Finally he folded, saying that if we weren't on the final (ten-handed) table bubble, he might've gone for it.

Guillen showed one card, the {A-Clubs}, as he dragged the chips. He's now up over 950,000.

Angel Guillen raised to 50,000 from under the gun, and Romeo Piro decided the time was right, reraising all in for 235,000. It folded back to Guillen who called, turning over {K-Clubs}{K-Spades} to Piro's {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}.

The board came {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{8-Spades}, and Piro is out in 11th.

A short pause now while players are now redrawing for seats around a single ten-handed table.

First Hand Excitement

On the first hand of the ten-handed final table, Torrey Reily pushed all in from late position and Oktay Altinbas made the call from the small blind. Reily had {A-Spades}{J-Hearts} and Altinbas {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}.

But it didn't matter what their hole cards were, as the community cards were {9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to put a straight on board.
