Making a Monnette Out of a Molehill

John Monnette raised first-in from under the gun. Chris Bjorin and Ville Wahlbeck both called further down the line, and it was three-handed to the flop.

It came {J-Clubs} {8-Spades} {4-Hearts}, and all three players checked. On fourth street, the {Q-Clubs} hit the board, and Monnette fired a bullet. Bjorin and Wahlbeck both called. The river brought the {6-Clubs}, and Monette fired again. Bjorin had enough fun and ducked out of the way, but Wahlbeck put in the call.

Monnette tabled {A-Clubs} {2-Spades} {5-Clubs} {9-Hearts}, taking down the full pot with the nut low and the nut flush. After a few recent exchanges, including that last one, John Monnette is now the chip leader, just eclipsing the 800,000-chip mark.
