Event 20 - $1,500 Pot Limit Hold'em

Defending Champ - David Singer
Defending Champ - David Singer
Event 20 will be the first Pot-Limit Hold'em tournament of the 2009 World Series of Poker. Unlike No Limit where you can push all in at any time, pot limit confides players betting to an amount equal or less than the amount of the pot.

Last year David Singer fought his way through a field of over just over 700 players to take home his first WSOP bracelet and the $214,131 that went along with it.

Players will start at 12pm PST with 4,500 in chips. Beginning blinds will be 25-50 with a maximum opening raise of 175.

491 And Growing

Currently the board reflects that 491 players are registered for the event. The number has steadily been growing over the past few minutes. Registration does not close until the end of Level 2, so expect that number to be closer to 600 or more by the time all is said and done.

A Short Day For Justin Young

Justin Young
Justin Young
Justin Young is eliminated after only a few minutes in the tournament after getting it all in with a flush and straight draw. His opponent held a better flush draw and a pair.

The turn and river brought no help for Young.

He has already been spotted playing a cash game on the other side of the Amazon Room.
