Greenstein Bricks

Stud-8

Barry Greenstein has taken a hit in a hand of Stud-8 after missing plenty of outs to collect half, if not all, of the sizable pot that was in the middle against Tim Finne.

Greenstein had four to a straight and four to a low but wasn't thrilled to receive a brick {J-Diamonds} on the river to leave him with just two pair, sixes and fives.

"No low?" quizzed Finne as he scooped with his jacks and tens. Greenstein slips to 35,000.

Frangos Looking a Force

Nick Frangos
Nick Frangos
Stud-8

Nick Frangos has scooped in a recent Stud-8 pot after firing bets on sixth and seventh streets. He showed down ({3-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}) {3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{A-Spades} for a full house as his opponent showing {K-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{J-Clubs} tapped the table and mucked.

With 12 WSOP cashes under his belt, including a final table in the $1,500 Seven Card Stud the other evening, Frangos will be a force as he now sits with 79,000 chips.

Nut-Nut For Amaral

Omaha-8

Chris Amaral called a raise preflop from the small blind and saw a flop of {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {2-Clubs}. Amaral check-raised his opponent on the flop. The player made the call. The turn came the {Q-Hearts} and Amaral fired. He was called again. The river was the {2-Diamonds} and Amaral bet once more. He was called again and showed {A-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} {4-Clubs} {3-Hearts} for the nut low and the nut high to scoop the entire pot.

"I didn't bust yet." Amaral said. "If I don't cash I want to be the exact bubble person, not two off the bubble." he added.

Ma Eliminated

Stud

Tony Ma is a recent casualty from today's $3,000 H.O.R.S.E event. His demise came during a round of Stud when he was all in holding the lead showing a pair of kings, but his opponent had plenty of outs on the river with his {3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}.

The river was flipped and it was the {6-Hearts}. "Straight...no...flush!" laughed his opponent as Ma was well and truly beaten, and headed to the exit.

Play Resumes

The 57 players have returned in the hopes of bursting the money bubble sometime during this level. The cards are back in the air!

Ferguson On the Move

Another table has just broken here and again Chris Ferguson finds himself on the move. As he arrived at his new home he commented to the table how he'd been sitting at six of the last eight tables to have broken here today. This makes it very difficult to build an image, adjust to table dynamics and get reads on your opponents, but it doesn't get any better for Ferguson as his new table is now once again the next table to break!

Jesus Can't Walk on Water

Omaha-8

The board was reading {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{A-Spades} when Chris Ferguson decided to make the call against his opponent Scott Lake who was in the big blind.

"Sixes full" said Lake and tabled {6-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{J-Hearts}. Ferguson took another peek at his cards, sighed and mucked.

After having a healthy stack during the day, Ferguson is now down to just 16,000 chips, while Lake scoops his way to 155,000.

Omaha-8

Andre Akkari has been eliminated in a recent hand of Omaha-8. The board read {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts} with Ylon Schwartz continuing his fine tournament to collect the high holding {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{K-Spades}{K-Hearts}, while another player showed {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for the low.

Akkari mucked and headed to the exit just short of the money.
