Carris Wins a Battle of the Blinds

Joseph Cutler limped in from the small blind and Jeff Carris quickly raised the action to 56,000 from the big blind. Cutler called and we saw a flop of {4-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}.

Cutler check-called another 55,000 to take us to the turn, which brought the {J-Spades}. When Cutler checked again, Carris bet 100,000, which was enough to get Cutler to surrender his hand.

Cutler Snags Some Chips

Joseph Cutler raised to 32,000 and got re-raised to 95,000 by Andrew Margolis on the button. Cutler didn't back down though, re-raising all in for abut 650,000.

Margolis quickly mucked his hand.

Eugene Katchalov Eliminated in 7th Place ($29,195)

Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov
Eugene Katchalov didn't waste any time with slowplaying, open shoving his last 57,000 into the pot. Jeff Carris made the call from the big blind and the hands were shown.

Katchalov: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Carris: {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

A flop of {10-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}{2-Hearts} gave Carris a gut-shot draw which got there on the river after the last two cards came {7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}.

Katchalov left the table without a bracelet, but with a payday worth $29,195.

Somerville and the Three Kings

Jason Somerville
Jason Somerville
Andrew Margolis made it 40,000 to go from the cutoff and Jason Somerville and Chris Moore called from the blinds.

When the flop came {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{7-Clubs}, action checked to Margolis who bet 50,000. Somerville called and Moore folded. Somerville check-called the rest of the hand when Margolis bet 85,000 at the {4-Hearts} on fourth street and 160,000 at the {2-Diamonds} on the river.

When the action ended, Margolis showed {A-Clubs}{9-Spades} for ace high while Somerville showed {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} for trips.

Cutler Gets in Behind - Comes Out Ahead

Joseph Cutler
Joseph Cutler
After Jason Somerville made a standard preflop raise, Joseph Cutler pushed his entire 326,000 chip stack into the pot. Eugene Katchalov asked for a count out of the small blind before making the call and, when Somerville folded, we went heads up to the flop.

Cutler: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Katchalov: {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}

Cutler got lucky early with a flop of {9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. The {7-Spades} on the turn and {3-Hearts} were no help to Katchalov, who fell to just 70,000 after the hand. Cutler now has nearly 750,000.

Moore Gets Some Back

When Andrew Margolis raised to 40,000 from the hijack, Christopher Moore read that he was stealing. When he re-popped to 108,000 before the flop, Margolis let his hand go.

Michael McNeil Eliminated in 8th Place ($21,981)

Michael McNeil
Michael McNeil
Michael McNeil never really got it going today and nursed one of the shorter stacks at the table through most of the action.

On his final hand, McNeil and Andrew Margolis both called Joseph Cutler's 32,000 preflop raise. When the cards fell {Q-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, action checked to McNeil on the button and he shoved. Margolis called from the big blind and Cutler folded.

McNeil: {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Margolis: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

The {7-Spades} on the turn and {A-Hearts} on the river didn't improve McNeil's hand and he left in 8th place with a payday worth $21,891.

Moore Has Less

Chris Moore raised to 40,000 from the button and Jeff Carris took a few seconds of contemplation before raising an additional 55,000 from the big blind.

Moore counted out his chips, checked his stack, and tossed his hand into the muck.
