Set Over Set for Ivey

Carlos Mortensen raised from the small blind and Phil Ivey called in the big blind.

The flop was {9-Spades}{3-Spades}{A-Diamonds} and Mortensen led out with a bet which Ivey called. The turn was the {8-Spades} and again Mortensen fired. Ivey made the quick call and the {2-Spades} fell on the river. Mortensen fired a third shell and Ivey looked him up.

Mortensen tabled {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{K-Hearts} for a rivered set of deuces without a low, as Ivey revealed {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for a bigger set. Ivey takes it down to extend his chip lead, to 1.58 million with Mortensen back to 860,000.
