Lee Markholt Eliminated

Nick Rampone raised it up, and Lee Markholt moved all-in for his last ~3,100. Rampone called, tabling {Q-Hearts} {9-Spades}. Markholt was in good shape to double up with a dominating {A-Hearts} {9-Clubs}. It wasn't meant to be though, as a queen on the flop would put Markholt out the door.

Nick Rampone advances out of that pairing.

Isaac Haxton vs. Greg Raymer
Isaac Haxton vs. Greg Raymer
Three pocket pairs in a row couldn't save Isaac Haxton from Greg Raymer.

First, he raised from the button and Raymer mucked his hand; Haxton showed pocket nines, saying it was the best hand he's seen today. Next, Raymer open folded his button and Haxton rolled over pocket tens.

Finally after a raise and and reraise, Haxton was all in for 16,000 with another pocket pair - jacks. Raymer showed big slick.

Raymer ended up winning the race, defeating Isaac Haxton.

Tom Dwan KO's Nam Le

Nam Le - Out
Nam Le - Out
Nam Le got himself all in before the flop holding {K-Hearts} {J-Hearts}, and he had two live cards against the {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} of Tom Dwan.

The board would be useless for Le though, coming out {3-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {4-Hearts}. With his wheel, Dwan has eliminated Nam Le and advanced to the second round.

Hellmuth Gains No Ground

Phil Hellmuth called a raise of 1,800 chips before the flop, and he and his opponent played on the {K-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} flop. Hellmuth led out with 1,500 chips. Benny Spindler min-raised to 3,000, and Hellmuth called.

Fourth street was the {K-Spades}. Hellmuth bet again, this time 2,000. Spindler went into the tank, long enough for the Brat to poke at him. "I'm gonna show you a bluff as soon as you call," he said. Sure enough, he called.

The river brought the {A-Hearts}. Hellmuth checked this time, and the man across the table bet a healthy 7,000 chips. After just a moment to deliberate, Hellmuth called him down.

Both players tabled {J-?} {6-?}, and the pot was split down the middle.

The Dragon Burns Kelly

David Pham has just dispatched with Thomas Kelly. The two men saw an unraised flop of {10-Hearts} {10-Spades} {8-Clubs}. All of Kelly's chips went into the pot with {2-Spades} {8-Hearts}, and Pham called him down with {K-Hearts} {8-Diamonds}. The {K-Clubs} and {J-Hearts} filled out the board, and Kelly has been knocked off.

David "The Dragon" Pham will play round two.
