Hellmuth Gains No Ground

Phil Hellmuth called a raise of 1,800 chips before the flop, and he and his opponent played on the {K-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {2-Clubs} flop. Hellmuth led out with 1,500 chips. Benny Spindler min-raised to 3,000, and Hellmuth called.

Fourth street was the {K-Spades}. Hellmuth bet again, this time 2,000. Spindler went into the tank, long enough for the Brat to poke at him. "I'm gonna show you a bluff as soon as you call," he said. Sure enough, he called.

The river brought the {A-Hearts}. Hellmuth checked this time, and the man across the table bet a healthy 7,000 chips. After just a moment to deliberate, Hellmuth called him down.

Both players tabled {J-?} {6-?}, and the pot was split down the middle.
