Layne Shows the Bluff

On an {A-Hearts} {Q-Hearts} {6-Spades} flop, J.C. Tran checked from the small blind, and Chad Layne bet 100,000 from the big blind.

Tran folded {K-?} {K-?} {Q-?} {J-?} face-up, propting Layne to reveal {10-?} {9-?} {9-?} (X) for the bluff.

Kimber Takes Some Chips from Tran

Jeff Kimber

When J.C. Tran limped from the cutoff, Jean-Phillippe Leandri followed suit from the small blind. Jeff Kimber checked his option and we saw a three-way flop of {6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Action checked to Tran who bet 45,000. Leandri folded and Kimber called. Both players checked the rest of the hand down as the board finished with the {K-Hearts} and {6-Hearts}.

When Kimber showed {Q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for two pair, Tran mucked his hand.

Tran Takes Some More

J.C. Tran limped from under-the-gun and action folded to Ross Boatman who checked his option on the big blind.

Both players checked the flop of {9-Clubs}{A-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Tran led for 40,000 after Boatman checked the {8-Hearts} on the turn. Boatman went into the tank before finally conceding the hand.

Chad Layne Eliminated in 7th Place ($31,427)

Chad Layne - 7th Place
Chad Layne - 7th Place
J.C. Tran opened for 60,000 on the button, Chad Layne three-bet to 200,000 from the small blind, Tran reraised enough to set him all-in and Layne made the call.

Layne {A-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {10-Spades} {8-Diamonds}
Tran {K-Hearts} {K-Spades} {J-Clubs} {5-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Clubs} {3-Diamonds} {3-Clubs} {5-Spades} {4-Hearts} and Tran's kings held up to eliminated Layne in 7th place.

Kimber Doubles Through Tran

J.C. Tran limped into the pot from the cutoff and Jeff Kimber check his option before we saw a flop of {9-Spades}{6-Spades}{K-Clubs}.

Tran led out for 85,000 and Kimber check-raised to 300,000. When Tran shoved, Kimber called.

Tran: {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Kimber: {Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades}{5-Spades}{A-Spades}

Tran had a gut-shot draw while Kimber had the nut flush draw. The {A-Clubs} on the turn put Kimber ahead, and he hit the flush with the {4-Spades} on the river to double up.

Updated Chip Counts

These counts are approximate, as our access is limited due to the internet broadcast:

Ross Boatman 380,000
Dallas Flowers 365,000
Jean-Philippe Leandri 350,000

Leandri Gets Respect

J.C. Tran limped in from the the small blind and Jean-Phillippe Leandri checked his option, bringing a flop of {5-Hearts}{8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Joe "The Elegance" Beevers has joined us alongside media row to sweat his fellow Hendon Mobber Ross Boatman while a large contingent of pros including Theo Tran, Nam Le, and Amnon Filippi are down on the floor rooting on J.C. Tran.

Rami Boukai Eliminated in 6th Place ($38,407)

Rami Boukai
Rami Boukai
In our biggest hand of the day so far, J.C. Tran raised to 60,000 from the cutoff and Jean-Phillippe Leandri bet the pot, raising to 216,000 from the button. Rami Boukai called all in for less, and Tran also called.

Tran checked the flop of {7-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} and Leandri moved all in. Tran called and we saw the hands.

Boukai: {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Leandri: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}
Tran: {K-Spades}{9-Hearts}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}

Boukai was drawing dead and Tran needed a non-club 10 to make his straight. It didn't come as the board finished with the {A-Spades} and {K-Diamonds}, tripling Leandri's chip stack and sending Bouki home in sixth place.
