Slowing of the Pace

With 53 players left, play has really started to slow down once again. The blinds will be going up to a chunky 3,000/6,000 in a couple of minutes which leave many of the stacks simply looking for spots to move in on.

They're Supposed to Have It the Third Time

There's a story with a climax here. The two men involved were Jason Wheeler and Ed Chang. It seemed as though Chang had some sort of beef with Wheeler. Wheeler opened from third spot before Chang three-betted all in for a nearly 250,000. Fold.

Next hand Wheeler opened from second position and again Chang moved all in and the whole time was staring Wheeler down with what looked like real menace in his eyes. Wheeler shrugged his shoulders and folded once again.

The third hand Wheeler opens for a raise from UTG and our friend Chang moves all in again. One time too many this time though as Wheeler calls with {K-Spades} {K-Clubs} and is in great shape against the {A-Clubs} {6-Clubs} on Chang.

The board ran {J-Diamonds} {J-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} {8-Spades}. Wheeler's win puts him up to 260,000. Chang down to 115,000.

Having Some Fun

Jack Powell just doubled up to about 120,000. All in with {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds}, he found himself in hot water against {J-?} {J-?} but managed to extricate himself thanks to a {Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} X {2-?} {K-Diamonds} board.

Flip Tokens Used Up

Jack Powell clearly used up all his flip tokens, as well as his One Time! card™ which automatically allows you to win a crucial flip. He called a short stack's all in with {5-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} and raced unsuccessfully against {A-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} on a {7-Hearts} {8-Hearts} {8-Spades} {6-Clubs} {7-Diamonds} board, counterfeited on the river.

Rui the Day

It was folded around to Antoine Amourette in the SB who completed and Rui Cao checked his option to see a {9-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} flop. Amourette check called a bet from Cao before the turn came {Q-Diamonds} where he check called a 22,000 bet.

The river came {4-Diamonds} and this time Amourette checked raised Cao's 50,000 bet all in for 170,000. Cao made the call with {A-Hearts} {9-Spades} but saw he was the victim of a runner runner flush by Amourette with {7-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds}.

Cao down to 160,000, Amourette up to 400,000.

Clark Scoops the Lot

Jack Powell pushed for 59,500 and Clark Hamagami moved all in behind him, only for Jason Newburger to move all in as well, covering the other two.

Powell: {K-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds}
Hamagami: {A-Clubs} {9-Hearts}
Newburger: {A-Hearts} {K-Spades}

The board came {4-Hearts} {A-Spades} {9-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {5-Spades} knocking Powell out. Hamagami is up to 300,000 while Newburger was down to 40,000 but doubled up the next hand to 80,000.
