Official Comment on the Dinner Break Color-Up Incident
It appears there were two separate errors in the color-up process which created erroneous chip counts. The first was in the color-up of the gray 100-denomination chips and the second was with the buy-up of some of the orange 1,000 denomination chips to remove some chips from the tables. It appears that two stacks of orange were incorrectly being paid with four pink 5,000-denomination chips, which caused a 20,000 chip discrepancy.
The staff acted very quickly in reaction to the problem and went to the security tapes to review the process. In that time they believe they corrected all of the errors that were made.
