I'll Take It, Baby

Scotty Nguyen
Scotty Nguyen
No-Limit Hold'em

Four players limped in, including David Sklansky (under the gun), Marcel Luske (hijack), and Scott Nguyen (button). The small blind completed and big blind checked, and so six players were in when the flop came {3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades}. All checked to Nguyen who bet 750. And all folded.

Nguyen is at 14,000, Sklansky has 12,500, and Luske is at 10,500.

Down and Dirty

Bryan Micon
Bryan Micon
Stud/8

Bryan Micon and Andy Bloch traded the lead back and forth during a recent Stud/8 hand. Micon was the one raising and betting out on third and fourth streets, while Bloch was betting and getting called on fifth and sixth.

Micon (X)(X){6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}(X)
Bloch (X)(X){8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{9-Hearts}(X)

Both checked seventh street. Micon squeezed his last card. "Ah, so dirty... I missed." He turned over his down cards -- {3-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades} -- he'd missed his low, and paired his ten.

"That is dirty," said Bloch as he mucked. Tens were all Micon needed. "So dirty that you scoop the whole pot," added J.C. Tran.

Micon is at 14,000, while Bloch slips to 6,000.

Hellmuth Hangs On

Down to less than 2,000 chips, Phil Hellmuth managed to more than triple up in an Omaha/8 hand when his {A-Spades}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts} managed to make for himself a wheel on a board of {K-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}. Hellmuth is now at 6,600.

Cunningham Cut Down

No-Limit Hold'em

A player in late position raised to 475, Allen Cunningham reraised from the cutoff to 1,625, his opponent reraised all in, and Cunningham called with his last chips -- about 6,000 total.

Cunningham showed {A-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} and his opponent {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}. The board came {Q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{6-Hearts}, and Cunningham is out.

Spades for Shaniac

Stud

"Okay, last one then we go to hi/lo," said the dealer as she dealt the last hand of the Stud (high only) round.

Sabyl Cohen brought it in with the {3-Diamonds}, a player with the {6-Clubs} showing raised, Annie Duke (who had an ace up) folded, another player with a {K-Spades} showing called, as did Shane Schleger with the {9-Clubs}.

By the end, it would just be Schleger and the player with the king. Schleger's opponent would pair his king on fifth street, yet Schleger kept betting into him to the end as he drew (X)(X){9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}(X). "I'll pay you off," said Schleger's opponent as he called on the end, and Schleger turned over his down cards -- {4-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} for the club flush. Schleger is up to 20,000.
