Mercier Exits

Jason Mercier in action
Jason Mercier in action
On a flop of {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Clubs} Jason Mercier got the last of his chips into the pot holding {A-Spades}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{3-Clubs} for top pair and the second nut-low draw.

His opponent that made the call however tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a stronger top pair and nut-low draw.

The turn gave both players a low when it dropped the {8-Spades}, and when the {5-Diamonds} fell on the river, Mercier exited the tournament after being scooped by his opponent.

Hellmuth Quartered

Catching the action on the turn with the board reading {7-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} Phil Hellmuth had his opponent all in.

Hellmuth: {K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

"I guess you could hit a three" Hellmuth states as the cards are turned over.

The dealer then burned and turned the {3-Clubs} on the river to see Hellmuth get quartered and left with only 1,500 after his nut-low was chopped up.

On The Rail

Vengrin vanquished

Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson, Justin Young and Matt Vengrin have all hit the rail, soon trailed by Robert Williamson III.

Shulman Doubles

Barry Shulman has managed to find a double when he was all in on the flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}.

Shulman held {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} against his opponents {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}.

The turn and river fell the {K-Spades} and {3-Diamonds} to see Shulman double to just over 4,000 in chips.

Cantu Doubles

You Cantu it!
You Cantu it!
Brandon Cantu repotted an early raise of 600 to a total of 2,100. His opponent made the call to see the flop {3-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {2-Spades}.

"Pot!" says the original raiser to effectively put Cantu all in; and with only 2,900 behind, Cantu makes the call.

Cantu: {A-Hearts} {J-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {7-Spades}
Opponent: {2-Hearts} {4-Clubs} {3-Spades} {Q-Spades}

The turn of the {J-Diamonds} saw Cantu take the lead before the {5-Spades} fell on the river to give Cantu the scoop to over 10,000 in chips.

Traniello Busted By Two Sets

In a seven-way pot, Marco Traniello pushed all in from the cutoff once the action was checked to him on the {K-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop.

The player on the button made the call as the rest of the players passed.

Traniello: {K-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Opponent: {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}

With his opponent flopping two sets to his top-two pair it was going to be tough for Traniello to stay alive.

The {7-Spades} on the turn gave Traniello a low-draw, but when the {2-Clubs} fell on the river, Traniello was sent to the rail.

Gank Wheels It In

We found Brett Jungblut all in for his last 3,900 on a flop of {5-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}.

Jungblut held {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Spades} for the nut-low and five-high straight.

His opponent showed {A-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {Q-Spades} {K-Clubs} for a pair of fives and a chance to chop the pot if a two should fall.

The turn of the {4-Diamonds} and river of the {6-Diamonds} changed nothing and Jungblut was able to scoop both the high and low pot to move to 9,600 in chips.
