Where Is All The Poker?

The poker action has slowed down as we approach the end of the level.

However the talk has sped up.

The topic of the day is currently the health condition of Michael Jackson as he was recently reported as having been taken to hospital and passed away.

"Did you hear about Michael Jackson?" pipes a player from one table.

"Michael Jackson is in hospital" arks up another from three tables down.

"Michael Jackson is dead" states one from the other end of the tournament floor.

Even though we are the number one poker news providers in the world, it seems as though we are now provided news on other issues around the world!

Hellmuth Dented

Phil Hellmuth limped in only to hear an opponent say, "you're my favorite player, but I have to raise you.

Hellmuth called an additional 600 and then check-raised all in on the {10-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop with his opponent making the call for his tournament life.

Hellmuth: {K-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

The turn and river landed the {7-Clubs} and {3-Spades} to see his opponent double as Hellmuth slipped to 3,200 in chips.

God And Jesus Spotted

Self-proclaimed greatest holdem player of all time, Phil Hellmuth has just entered the building and taken his seat.

Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson has also taken up a seat in the tournament.

Ramdin Takes Half as Lisandro Misses

We caught the action with the board reading {3-Spades}{2-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} with Victor Ramdin all in against Jeff Lisandro and a second player.

The river fell the {4-Spades} and Lisandro got his remaining chips into the middle and was also called.

Ramdin: {A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}
Lisandro: {A-Clubs}{10-Spades}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{9-Spades}

Ramdin saw his near nut-nut taken away on the river to see him only take half, while Lisandro would double his opponent up with a weaker flush.

Sexton Out

Get 'em next time Mike

After calling a raise of 150, Mike Sexton then faced another reraise to 900. With a lot of money in the pot and just heads up, Sexton chose to go ahead and commit his last 650 to the pot with his opponent making the call.

Sexton: {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {Q-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds} {K-Hearts} {6-Diamonds} {7-Spades}

The flop of {Q-Diamonds} {J-Diamonds} {3-Diamonds} all but sealed the deal. The turn and river fell the {4-Spades} and {J-Hearts} to see Sexton make an early exit.

Thater Eliminates Opponent

Thater-ising her competition
Thater-ising her competition
Catching the action on the flop of {Q-Spades}{2-Spades}{J-Spades} Katja Thater bet out 500 and was called by her opponent.

When the {Q-Hearts} fell on the turn Thater checked to see her opponent push all in. Thater called and the cards were tabled.

Thater: {J-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}

The river landed the {2-Clubs} and Thater sent her opponent to the rail while moving up to 4,500 in chips with two add-on chips still in her possession.

Raymond Almost Royalty

After the flop of {6-Clubs} {Q-Spades} {9-Spades} , Raymond Davis went all in for his last 1,450 in chips and was called by one opponent.

Davis showed {Q-Diamonds} {8-Spades} {10-Spades} {K-Spades} for top pair as well a double-gutshot straight and straight flush draw to be drawing very live against his opponents {A-Diamonds} {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {5-Diamonds} .

The turn was a {2-Clubs} and Davis would need some help on the river, and when the {J-Spades} fell on the river, Davis would make a King-high straight flush to double to 4,650 in chips.
