Chop, Chop, Chop

Clonie in action
Clonie in action
PokerNews Note: Just a reminder to all poker junkies, family and friends - in today's tournament there will be alot of chopped pots!

Clonie Gowen has . . . chopped a pot to keep her two add-on chips still active and a near 1,400 chips in tow.

After raising preflop to 350 and finding one caller. Gowen pushed all her chips into the middle when the board ran out {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{J-Clubs} holding {K-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{7-Spades}.

Her opponent called holding {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}{3-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and when Gowen managed to spike two-pair on the river she took the high as her opponent took the low.

Domo Arigato Mr. Ro'Gobbo'!

We picked up the action after the flop of {10-Diamonds} {3-Spades} {J-Hearts} had fallen.

Jimmy 'Gobboboy' Fricke bet the pot of 900 and managed a few folds from his opponents, until one put his remaining 675 in the middle.

Fricke: {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{Q-Spades}
Opponent: {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}

The {5-Spades} on the turn didn't help Fricke, but the {10-Clubs} sealed the deal.

Fricke sent a player to the rail and he is now sitting at 6,350 in chips.

Liebert Continues To Climb

Maybe its a love for The PokerKat or just the fact that Kathy Liebert is sitting directly in front of the blogging desk; but we are happy to provide to you another Liebert special.

We caught the action on the flop of {Q-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} with Liebert calling a 100-chip bet along with one other.

The turn dropped the {3-Spades} and this time Liebert took control by firing out 300 to be met with only one caller.

A 600-chip bet from Liebert was called on the river when it dropped the {6-Clubs} and Liebert tabled her {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a flopped-boat as her opponent mucked.

Liebert has pushed to 4,000, and still has both her add-on chips in hand.

Medic Clipped

Catching the action on the flop of {9-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{10-Clubs} Nenad Medic led out for 400 and was check-raised all in by his opponent.

Medic made a crying call tabling his {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} to be in terrible shape against his opponents {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The turn an river landed the {J-Hearts} and {3-Spades} to see Medic ship the pot to his opponent, and be left with just a single 1,000-denomination chip and one add on chip.

Nice Hand Mr. Meehan

2003 Bracelet winner 'Minneapolis' Jim Meehan saw a five-way flop of {9-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {A-Spades} .

Everyone checked it to Meehan who put in his last 1,150 with only one player making the call.

Meehan showed {A-Clubs} {2-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {5-Spades} . "I didn't think you'd go all in there with an ace" snarls his opponent as he showed {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}{6-Spades}{J-Hearts}.

The turn and river fell the {Q-Hearts} and {7-Hearts} to see Meehan double through.

Meehan is up to 3500 in chips with one rebuy chip still available.

Jason Who?

Jason who?
Jason who?
One of our PokerNews reporters wandered over to see what was going down on Jason Mercier's tabled.

Not in the hand, Mercier was autographing a WSOP hat for the elderly gentleman seated to his right.

Once he scribbled a very cursive Jason Mercier onto the side of the wide hat that was already littered with signatures from the likes of Chris Ferguson and Grey Raymer. The elderly gentleman asked politely, "how do you say it?"

"Jason . . . Mer-c-er" responded Mercier, "M, E, R, C, I, E, R" he added.

"Oh ok" muttered the elderly gentleman as he put away the sharpie and hat to play the hand that was being dealt.
