Vedes Slips Away from Cantu

After a bit of a delay in the action, we came back to a thrilling but anti-climactic hand. Tommy Vedes opened for pot (105,000), then called after Brandon Cantu re-potted from the button.

Vedes moved in first on a flop of {6-Hearts} {9-Hearts} {K-Hearts} and Cantu called all in for 135,000 chips. Cantu showed {A-Clubs} {A-Diamonds} {J-Clubs} {8-Hearts} for unimproved aces; Vedes showed {Q-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {3-Clubs} {2-Clubs} for unimproved queens. Of course, as these things go, the turn and river came running low cards, {5-Diamonds} and {7-Hearts}, to make a qualifying low for Vedes. He therefore salvaged half of the pot and avoided doubling Cantu up.
