Time To Ignite

This time last year the atmosphere at the ESPN feature table was electric with Scotty Nguyen cooking up a storm in a way that only he can.

That night Scotty also cooked up some controversy for some of his colorful comments and drunken antics at the final table, but those who were fortunate enough to witness the evening's entertainment in person certainly went home with plenty of memories and a story to tell back home.

Whether you liked him or hated him that evening, Scotty was able to grab your attention.

These five players are certainly polar opposites to Scotty Nguyen and the atmosphere is about as far removed from the 2008 HORSE World Championship as you can get. Water and coffee are the only beverages of choice, and the players have hardly spoken a word between them.

Without a big name TV personality to attract the fans, there are still plenty of empty seats here, and the fans are struggling to give a holla as this final table appears stuck in second gear.

Hopefully something will ignite this final table very soon!

Sagstrom's Wheel Cripples Seed

Stud-8

Vitaly Lunkin (X)(X) {3-Hearts} {K-Diamonds}
Erik Sagstrom (X)(X) {A-Diamonds} {2-Spades} {3-Diamonds} {9-Hearts} (X)
Huck Seed (X)(X) {7-Diamonds} {6-Hearts} {10-Diamonds} {3-Spades} (X)

Vitaly Lunkin had the bring-in, Erik Sagstrom completed, Huck Seed called and Lunkin called. Sagstrom led out on fourth street, Seed called and Lunkin folded. Sagstrom led again on fifth and Seed called, then check-called Seed's sixth street bet. Sagstrom bet the river and Seed called.

Sagstrom showed {4-Hearts} {2-Clubs} {5-Spades} for a wheel and Seed mucked. He's down to only 65,000 in chips, while Sagstrom is up to 5.3 million.

Triple Up For Seed

Hold'em

Huck Seed opened the action by moving all in for his last 65,000 chips. David Bach called in the small blind and Erik Sagstrom checked in the big blind.

The two live players checked down a board of {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} and Seed tabled {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} for the best hand to collect the triple up.

He's hanging in there with over 200,000 chips.

Hold'em

Vitaly Lunkin limped in, Erik Sagstrom raised from the button, John Hanson called from the small blind and Huck Seed called all in for 195,000 from the big blind.

The flop came down {A-Clubs} {10-Hearts} {4-Clubs}. Hanson and Lunkin checked to Sagstrom, who bet. Hanson raised, Lunkin called and Sagstrom called. The turn was the {Q-Spades}. The action was checked to Lunkin, who bet. Hanson called and Sagstrom called. Everyone checked the {5-Diamonds} on the river.

Lunkin had {8-Clubs} {9-Clubs} for a busted flush draw, Hanson showed the {A-Spades} {J-Clubs} for top pair, Sagstrom mucked and Seed mucked, his tournament at an end. He exited in fifth place, collecting $276,610.

Take a Little, Give a Little for Lunkin

Hold'em

John Hanson raised from the cutoff, with a dead button behind him, before Vitaly Lunkin three-bet from the small blind. David Bach folded his big blind and Hanson made the call. The flop landed {7-Hearts}{J-Spades}{2-Spades} and Lunkin fired out a bet to take it down.

Next hand Lunkin raised from the button and Erik Sagstrom put in the three-bet from the big blind. Lunkin made the call. The flop landed {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{Q-Spades} and Sagstrom's flop-bet was enough to win the pot as Lunkin gives some chips back.

Nut-No? Oh Yes!

Hold'em

Erik Sagstrom raised pre-flop and John Hanson called. Hanson check-raised Sagstrom on the {K-Diamonds} {9-Clubs} {6-Spades} flop and Sagstrom called. The turn was the {9-Diamonds} and Hanson fired again. Sagstrom called and they went to the river, which fell the {7-Hearts}. Both players checked.

Hanson turned over {A-Spades} {Q-Diamonds}, or as tournament director Robbie Thompson calls it "Nut-No," and won the pot.

Sagstrom Squeezed Out

Omaha-8

Erik Sagstrom raised from under the gun and Vitaly Lunkin called in the small blind. David Bach then declared a rase from the big blind and both opponents made the call.

The flop arrived {K-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Lunkin checked to Bach who made a bet. Sagstrom and Lunkin both made the call.

The turn brought the {j-Spades}. Lunkin checked and Bach bet out 200,000. Sagstrom made the call before Lunkin announced a raise making it 400,000. Every pot is just huge at this point. Bach and Sagstrom both made the call.

The {7-Hearts} hit the river and Lunkin checked to Bach who fired a bet. Sagstrom called as did Lunkin.

Bach revealed {A-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} for a pair of aces with the second-nut low, but Lunkin could better for half with {A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{Q-Spades} for the nut low, as Sagstrom gets caught in the middle.

Hanson Takes One from Lunkin

Omaha-8

Vitaly Lunkin opened for a raise and John Hanson called from the big blind. The two saw a flop of {10-Clubs} {6-Spades} {3-Hearts}. Hanson check-called a bet from Lunkin. Both players checked the {Q-Hearts} on the turn. The {A-Hearts} hit the river and Hanson bet. Lunkin gave it up and Hanson won the pot.

Bach's Set Scoops

Omaha-8

Vitaly Lunkin raised from the small blind and David Bach called from the big blind.

The flop came down {J-Clubs} {8-Clubs} {5-Hearts}. Lunkin bet and Bach called. Both players checked the {2-Clubs} on the turn. The river was the {A-Spades}. Lunkin bet and Bach called.

Lunkin showed {A-Hearts} {Q-Clubs} {8-Spades} {2-Spades} for two pair, but Bach had him with {Q-Spades} {J-Spades} {J-Diamonds} {4-Diamonds} for a set of jacks and scooped the pot.
