The Seven Million Dollar Man

Back in the chip lead
Back in the chip lead
Omaha-8

Erik Sagstrom raised from the small blind and John Hanson defended his big blind.

The flop was {10-Spades} {5-Hearts} {3-Diamonds}. Sagstrom led out and Hanson called. Sagstrom fired again when the {6-Spades} hit the turn, Hanson raised, Sagstrom three-bet, and Hanson called. The river was the {A-Diamonds} and both players checked.

Hanson showed {A-Hearts} {J-Spades} {9-Spades} {4-Clubs} for a pair of aces and a 6-5-4-3-A low, but Sagstrom turned up {A-Spades} {2-Spades} {6-Diamonds} {10-Hearts} for a 6-5-3-2-A low and two pair, aces and tens. Sagstrom scooped the pot and took his stack up to 7,000,000.

Chopped by the River

Omaha-8

Erik Sagstrom raised the button and David Bach called in the big blind.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds} and Bach checked over to Sagstrom. He fired a bet and Bach called.

The {Q-Hearts} fell on the turn and Bach checked, Sagstrom bet but Bach then announced a raise making it 480,000 to go. Sagstrom made the call.

The river was the {5-Spades} and Bach led out with a bet. Sagstrom made the call.

Bach tabled {2-Spades}{3-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{Q-Spades} for two pair and nut low, but Sagstrom collected half with {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for a bigger two pair.

Chip Lead Swings Back to Hanson

Razz

Erik Sagstrom (X)(X) {5-?} {6-?} {4-?} {K-?} (X)
John Hanson (X)(X) {6-?} {4-?} {9-?} {Q-?} (X)

David Bach brought it in with a king, Sagstrom completed, Hanson raised, Bach folded and Sagstrom called. Heads-up to fourth street.

Hanson led out on fourth and Bach called. Both players checked fifth street. Hanson check-called a bet on sixth street, then checked the river. Sagstrom bet, Hanson raised, and Sagstrom folded. Hanson took down the pot.

Pros on the Rail

As the hour grows later, more familiar faces are filling out the stands. Eli Elezra, David Levi, Marsha Waggoner, Yuval Bronshtein, Thor Hansen and our new chip-counter Gus Hansen are all in the house sweating the action.

Moving On...

Razz

Our last five Razz hands have been uninspiring "complete and take it" affairs where the action has failed to get past third street. Once again Razz has proven to be the tightest game of the evening as the players move on to the greener pastures of Stud.

Chip Counter Gets a Promotion

I'm afraid we've had to fire our newest chip counter, as Gus Hansen has taken up a new role as guest final table announcer.

Gus took the mic and explained that he'd never announced before. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to have any favorites as an announcer, but he said he is not-so-secretly cheering for Erik Sagstrom. Not only because he is a friend, but because he has side bets against John Hanson.

Hansen Entertaining But...

Whilst Gus Hansen's commentary is most entertaining, especially in his description of the player's hats and their abnormal stacking of chips, it's proving a little difficult to get all of the details of the Stud cards and action. Bear with us folks!

Bach Bets Sagstrom Out

Stud

Erik Sagstrom (X)(X){Q-Clubs} {4-Spades} {A-Spades} (?)
David Bach (X)(X) {9-?} {6-Spades} {A-Clubs} {9-?}

Sagstrom completed on third street and Bach called. Sagstrom led out on fourth street, Bach raised and Sagstrom called. Both players checked fifth street when they hit aces. Bach bet his open pair of nines on sixth street, Sagstrom mucked, and Bach took it down.

A Stud Hand...?

Stud

In the spirit of Gus Hansen commentary, the details of the following hand were sketchy but we giggled none the less.

It appeared that David Bach fired most of the way with John Hanson calling him down, in what was a rather hefty pot. Hanson had a pair of sixes on board but Bach took down the pot with {9-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for trip nines.

And with that Gus has given up the mic and returned to regular chip counting duties, as the players take a quick five-minute bathroom break.
