Jason Mercier Wins Event #5 ($1,500 Pot-Limit Omaha), Steven Burkholder Eliminated in 2nd Place ($146,748)

Steven Burkholder - 2nd Place
Steven Burkholder - 2nd Place
Jason Mercier limped in on the button and Steven Burkholder made it an additional 48,000 to go from the big blind. Mercier called and they saw a flop of {J-Hearts} {J-Spades} {6-Diamonds}.

Burkholder led out for 110,000, Mercier raised to 285,000, Burkholder re-potted, Mercier moved all in and Burkholder called.

Burkholder {A-Clubs} {A-Hearts} {J-Clubs} {7-Diamonds}
Mercier {Q-Clubs} {J-Diamonds} {8-Diamonds} {2-Spades}

Both players held a jack for trips, but Burkholder had Mercier out-kicked. The {Q-Diamonds} however, hit the turn, making Mercier a full house, which he celebrated with the smallest of fist-pumps. The river was the {K-Diamonds} and it was all over.

Jason Mercier is our champion, taking down his first WSOP bracelet and $237,415. Burkholder earned $146,748 for his runner-up finish.
