Good Fold?

A player in late position raised to 1,500 and was called by big blind Beth Shak. Both players checked the {8-Clubs} {6-Diamonds} {A-Spades} flop. Shak bet 4,000 when the turn came {7-Clubs} and induce a face-up fold of {Q-?} {Q-?} from her opponent.

Shak is up to 36,000.

A Strange Hand for Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi from Day 1A
Sorel Mizzi from Day 1A
Sorel Mizzi made it 1,050 to play from the hijack and got called by the big blind.

Action checked to Mizzi on a flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and he led for 1,625. His opponent check-raised to 3,250 and the dealer put the {Q-Clubs} on the turn before Mizzi had a chance to act. The floor was called and the {Q-Clubs} was pulled from the board, giving Mizzi the chance to make the call.

When the new turn card brought the {5-Hearts}, the big blind led for 4,000 and Mizzi folded. He's down to 54,000.

Madrid Puts His Gloves On

Former professional boxer Kili Madrid raised to 1,100 from middle position. Eli Elezra called from the button, and the small blind came along as well. Three handed then, the flop showed up {8-Spades} {4-Hearts} {2-Clubs}. The small blind checked, and Madrid continued out with a bet of 1,900. Elezra ducked out, but the small blind decided to check-raise to 5,200. Madrid then re-raised all in, and his lone opponent finally surrendered his hand.

Madrid flashed {K-Hearts} {5-Hearts} for the airball as he raked in the pot. "Now you're crazy man," said Elezra with a big grin. "I'm crazy! I'm crazy!" Madrid said. He was a perfect 8-0 in his pro boxing career, and he's 1-0 on bluffs so far today.

Turner Hits the Rail

Jon "PearlJammed" Turner moved all in for his last 1,400 from middle position and got called in three places.

The table checked the board of {10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{K-Diamonds} all the way to the river when the button finally led out for 2,000. His two other opponents folded and he showed {K-Hearts}{10-Spades} for two pair, besting Turner's {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}.

Slotboom Runs Into Kings

Rolf Slotboom fired a raise from the small blind into his opponent in the big blind. The player then reraised all in for 12,450 total. Slotboom tanked and then made the call holding pocket jacks. He was behind his opponent's pocket kings and failed to improve on the board of {10-Hearts} {5-Spades} {5-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts} {A-Spades}.

Johannes Strassmann Eliminated

Johannes Strassmann was all in before the flop with pocket kings facing the pocket queens of his opponent.

Looking to double up, his hopes quickly put to rest as a queen came on the flop. The turn and river provided no help for the German player, eliminating him from the tournament.

Shulman Heads Home

We caught this hand as Barry Shulman pushed his last 26,000 into the middle on a board of {7-Clubs}{9-Spades}{Q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

When his opponent tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} for the full house, Shulman mucked and made his way out of the Amazon Room.

Jennifer Tilly Eliminated

After a flop of {8-Spades} {7-Spades} {6-Clubs} Jennifer Tilly was all in with {8-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} for two pair against the {9-Hearts} {9-Clubs} of her opponent.

The turn was a blank in the {Q-Spades} , but the {7-Hearts} on the river counterfeited Tilly's two pair, eliminating her from the tournament.
