Ciotola Turns Bluff into Value Bet

Mike Ciotola

Mark Salinaro opened another pot with a raise to 155,000 from under the gun. Mike Ciotola made the call in late position and the two saw a flop of {4-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}.

Both players checked and the {8-Diamonds} fell on the turn, putting a potential flush out there. Salinaro led out with a bet of 225,000 and Ciotola was quick to make the call.

The {K-Clubs} completed the river and Salinaro deliberated before checking to Ciotola who fired out a healthy bet of 500,000. Salinaro again went into the tank again and eventually found a call.

Ciotola sheepishly revealed {3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}, assuming he was beat, but a murmur trickled around the crowd as Salinaro couldn't better an underpair as he tossed his cards into the muck.
