David Williams, one of our overnight big stacks, has had a pretty good day so far.
After strolling in late and casually asking us whether we knew where his seat was, he settled in well and has been slowly but surely increasing his stack.
Just now we witnessed him raising from the button and picking up a caller in the shape of the big blind to see a flop. The big blind check-called the bet from Williams, and check-called again on the turn. Come the river he checked again, and this time when Williams bet, the big blind folded up.
Like many of the event that aren't no limit, this one was loaded with notable players. However, as we get closer and closer to our final table, Barry Greenstein is the last of the PokerStars Team Pros left in this event. He's currently sitting with a less-than-average stack of chips, but we're sure he plans on changing that for the better.
In the time it took us to report on Ted Forrest finding himself in a short-stacked position, he has been eliminated. We didn't catch all the action, but we do know that his was unable to improve against his opponent's .
Forrest has five WSOP bracelets, an NBC heads-up title, and a World Poker Tour win under his belt, but he'll have to wait a little while longer before winning his next bracelet.
Phil Ivey raised from the hijack and found himself facing a reraise from the gentleman on the button. He called, and they saw a flop which both players checked.
Ivey turned up the aggression and bet out on the turn and river, but the button called both streets and turned over . Whatever Ivey had he couldn't beat it, and once he had mucked, Ivey was down to 19,000.
