Juanda Down

Reduced to just 300 chips (not a typo), John Juanda called all in and found himself up against both blinds.

The flop came down {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. "Yessss!" said Juanda, but he wasn't fooling anyone. The big blind bet, the small blind folded, and they were on their backs.

Juanda: {q-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Big blind: {6-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

Turn: {3-Diamonds}

River: {k-Spades}

Juanda = busto.

Slowly But Surely for Williams

David Williams, one of our overnight big stacks, has had a pretty good day so far.

After strolling in late and casually asking us whether we knew where his seat was, he settled in well and has been slowly but surely increasing his stack.

Just now we witnessed him raising from the button and picking up a caller in the shape of the big blind to see a {j-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs} flop. The big blind check-called the bet from Williams, and check-called again on the {2-Hearts} turn. Come the {5-Hearts} river he checked again, and this time when Williams bet, the big blind folded {a-}{10-} up.

Williams is at 47,000.

Greenstein Last of the PokerStars Team Pros

Barry Greenstein
Barry Greenstein

Like many of the event that aren't no limit, this one was loaded with notable players. However, as we get closer and closer to our final table, Barry Greenstein is the last of the PokerStars Team Pros left in this event. He's currently sitting with a less-than-average stack of chips, but we're sure he plans on changing that for the better.

Forrest Eliminated

In the time it took us to report on Ted Forrest finding himself in a short-stacked position, he has been eliminated. We didn't catch all the action, but we do know that his {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} was unable to improve against his opponent's {8-}{8-}.

Forrest has five WSOP bracelets, an NBC heads-up title, and a World Poker Tour win under his belt, but he'll have to wait a little while longer before winning his next bracelet.

Ivey Takes a Hit

Phil Ivey raised from the hijack and found himself facing a reraise from the gentleman on the button. He called, and they saw a {2-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop which both players checked.

Ivey turned up the aggression and bet out on the {10-Clubs} turn and {4-Spades} river, but the button called both streets and turned over {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}. Whatever Ivey had he couldn't beat it, and once he had mucked, Ivey was down to 19,000.

Ted Forrest Catches a Break, Still Hurting

Ted Forrest was all in against Barry Greenstein on a flop reading {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}.

Greenstein: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Forrest: {a-}{2-}

Forrest needed high cards to come, and he got one with the {a-Diamonds} on the turn. The river's {6-Clubs} didn't change anything and the two split the pot.

In the next hand, Forrest called from late position, the small blind folded, and the big blind checked his option.

The flop came {4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and Forrest bet when the big blind checked. However, his bet was met with raise and Forrest thought for a short time before folding.

Forrest is now sitting with about 2,000 chips.
