Banks Finds Other Draw

Kirk Banks was on the button and raised preflop with Ilya Sheyn re-raising from the small blind. Banks called and they got to see a flop.

The flop came {8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Hearts}. Sheyn bet, Banks raised, and Sheyn called. When the {4-Spades} came on the turn, Sheyn elected to check-call a bet from Banks. However, betting increased when the {j-Spades} came on the river. Shayne bet and called a raise from Banks, but mucked his cards when Banks turned up {9-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for a queen-high straight.

Nothing Really Matros to Potter

There was a raise and a reraise preflop and so it was that Matthew Matros and Jason Potter saw a flop, Potter in position.

The action went check-bet-call down every street of the {j-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} board, at the end of which Potter turned over {a-Spades}{j-Spades} for top two pair. Matros couldn't beat it and dropped to 120,000. Potter meanwhile increased his stack to 175,000.

David Cairns Eliminated in 23rd Place ($5,644)

David Cairns
David Cairns

Betting was capped preflop, but David Cairns and Adrian Dresel-Velasquez decided to get all the chips in the middle before we even saw a flop putting Cairns' tournament life at risk.

Cairns tabled {3-}{3-} and Dresel-Velasquez joined the race with {a-}{q-}. Cairns fell behind on a flop of {q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and wasn't able to catch up with the {6-Spades} on the turn or the {7-Clubs} on the river.

Spreading the Love

We don't know who did it, but one poker player has just made the lady at the Mexican food stand in the Poker Kitchen incredibly happy, by tipping her $100.

"I love you," she told him.

Whoever it was, we reckon there's a special place being saved for him in poker heaven.

Kerses!

Andrew Kerstine was reduced to just 10,000 when he couldn't beat Hope Williams' {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for two pair at the end of a {2-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs} board.

And so it was that Kerstine found himself all in a hand or two later, and up against Terrence Chan and Adrian Dresel-Velasquez. By the time the {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{q-Clubs}2c} board had run out, Kerstine hadn't a hope - his {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} were no good as Chan turned over {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} which were in turn no good against Dresel-Velasquez' {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} which had made a set.

Kerstine duly hit the rail.
