Haynie Wins One, Loses One

Yan Chen and Derric Haynie
Yan Chen and Derric Haynie

Mike Wattel opened to 18,000 from the button and Derric Haynie three-bet to 67,000 from the big blind to prompt a fold from Wattel.

The following hand Yan Chen opened the button to 20,000 and Haynie made the call before both players drew one.

Haynie checked and Chen fired out 35,000 which Haynie called.

Chen tabled his {9-}{8-}{7-}{4-}{2-} to rake in the pot and move to 540,000 in chips.

Haynie Powering Up

Derric Haynie was first to act and raised to 18,000. Yan Chen called from the big blind and drew two. Haynie only needed one. Chen checked, and Haynie checked behind, tabling a {j-}-{8-}. That was good enough for the win, and Haynie took the pot. He could be getting a little frisky this level now that he's got a bottle of 5 Hour Energy in front of him.

Haynie Pushes

Derric Haynie opened to 18,000 from the button and Mike Wattel three-bet from the big blind to 63,000.

Haynie mulled over his decision before sliding in the rest of his chips to amount to a re-raise of 138,000.

Wattel didn't take too long to produce a fold to see Haynie pushed the pot and move to 207,000 in chips.

Yan Chen opened to 16,000 from under the gun only to have Todd Bui move all in from the small blind for 38,000.

Chen made the call standing pat as Bui drew one to his {10-}{6-}{3-}{2-}.

Chen tabled his {10-}{8-}{7-}{4-}{3-} as Bui began to squeeze out his drawn card.

"Oh no, it's got no sides . . . pair or an ace" stated Bui as he flipped over his ace.

Bui went round the table congratulating his opponents before leaving the final table $18,096 richer.

Wattel Takes a Chunk from Binger

Mike Wattel raised preflop, and in the big blind, Nick Binger reraised to 42,000. Wattel decided on a call, and each player drew one. Binger checked, and Wattel bet 50,000. Binger took a deep breath. His masseuse froze mid-backrub while he stared down Wattel. But Binger couldn't talk himself into a call and folded, dropping down to 85,000. Wattel is up to 385,000.

James Bord Eliminated in 6th Place ($12,997)

The action folded round to James Bord in the cutoff and he open-jammed for just over 100,000.

Yan Chen made the call in the small blind and stood pat as Bord drew one throwing out his {6-} to go along with his {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Chen's hand of {9-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} was spread, and unfortunately for Bord he could only find a {3-Hearts} to pair.

Not returning to England empty-handed, Bord will take home $12,997 for his efforts as Chen climbs to 423,000 in chips.
