Ladies No Good To Montenegro

Pocket queens have not been kind to Felipe Montenegro over the past few minutes, ultimately ending in his elimination from the tournament

First Montenegro held the ladies on a {7-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop against Joshua Macciello's {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} but another seven on the turn gave Macciello trips and the double up.

Next hand, Montenegro was all in with {A-Clubs}{10-Spades} for his last 18,000 but ran into the {Q-Spades}{Q-Clubs} of Barny Boatman. The board bricked out {K-Spades}{J-Hearts}{8-Spades}{K-Clubs}{4-Spades} and Montenegro was eliminated as Boatman moves up to 48,000.

Carroll Calls Hellmuth With Third Pair

Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

"Guys that call with third pair against me don't do too well..."

That was one of the lines thrown by Phil Hellmuth following a recent hand against James Carroll.

Carroll had raised under the gun to 2,600 with Hellmuth making the call in the big blind. The flop fell {J-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{K-Hearts} and Hellmuth checked to Carroll who bet 3,500. Hellmuth clicked it back to 7,100 and Carroll made the call.

The turn was the {9-Spades} and Hellmuth fired 13,000. Carroll made the call as the river {A-Diamonds} slowed both players as they checked it down.

Carroll showed {J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for the best hand as Hellmuth mucked in disgust.

"I was calling the river too!" exclaimed Carroll.

"Well you're just gonna give me all your chips then too! You better hope this table breaks coz I'm gonna bust you!" replied Hellmuth angrily.

Hellmuth is down to 50,000 with Carroll now sitting with 110,000.

200k Pot With Ace-Queen

Paul Foltyn opened for a raised before Nico Behling made it 7,300 to go. Action back to Foltyn and he put in a four-bet to 17,500. With both players so deep, Behling made it five bets as he slid 50,000 into the middle. Foltyn moved all in with a six bet and Behling made the call.

It wasn't quite aces and kings, as Behling tabled {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and Foltyn showed a dominated {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}.

With his tournament life on the life, Foltyn watched as the dealer spread {8-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} to spike a pair of queens for a huge double up. He's up to 216,000 with Behling back to 70,000.

Failla Doubles

James Carroll opened with a raise before a short-stacked Will Failla moved all in for his last 9,800 in chips. Carroll made the call.

Failla: {A-Clubs}{10-Clubs}
Carroll: {A-Hearts}{2-Hearts}

The board landed {7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and Failla finds a much needed double up to around 21,000 chips.

Galic Finds Flush Against Sheets

On a flop of {5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}, Dragan Galic and Eric "Sheets" Haber got into a raising war that saw the last chips of Galic hit the pot.

Galic held {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for an overpair but he was in trouble against Haber's {K-Spades}{K-Hearts}.

The turn produced the {A-Clubs} and suddenly Galic picked up his {9-Clubs} and threw it at the board yelling, "One more!!!"

He got his wish as the {4-Clubs} landed on the river to complete his flush for a remarkable double up. He's at 70,000 with Haber slipping to 41,000.

Hellmuth Getting Frustrated

On a {3-Spades}{5-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop, Takashi Ogura bet 7,000 and Phil Hellmuth called. James Carroll popped it to 15,000 and Ogura gave it up. Hellmuth made the call and both checked the {8-Spades} turn card.

The {9-Diamonds} landed on the river and Hellmuth bet 8,000, getting an instant call from Carroll who tabled {5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. "Set is good, I had two pair," said a peeved Hellmuth. "F****n cooler" muttered Hellmuth, after taking a few seconds away from the table to cool down.

Hellmuth is down to 21,000 while Carroll climbs to about 140,000.
