The Magician Doubles Before The Break

Antonio Esfandiari
Antonio Esfandiari

Antonio Esfandiari doubled up to about 750,000 in a hefty pot just before the break. He was in the big blind and was faced with a three-bet shove in front of him from Nico Behling, who had a bigger stack. Esfandiari made the all-in call and the first raiser folded.

Esfandiari tabled {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}, dominating Behling's {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {2-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades} and Esfandiari breathed a sigh of relief, jumping to 2nd in chips. Behling slipped to 270,000.
