Anh Le Eliminated in 8th Place, JJ Liu Eliminated in 7th Place ($21,991 apiece)

Anh Le - 8th place
Anh Le - 8th place

JJ Liu raised from the cutoff, opening the proverbial can of worms. On the button, Anh Le three-bet, and Julian Parmann reraised to four bets from the small blind. When it came back to Liu, she asked if she could raise again, and she went ahead and capped it at 60,000 total. Le called, leaving herself just 2,000 behind, and Parmann called the extra bet to go three ways to the very expensive flop.

It came out {10-Hearts} {7-Hearts} {9-Diamonds}, and Parmann fired out a quick bet. Liu called, and Le was reluctant to put her last two chips into the pot. She almost talked herself into folding, but she finally flicked them into the middle to put herself at risk.

That led to the {10-Spades} turn, and Parmann fired again. Liu thought it over for a few seconds before moving all in for her last 44,000 total chips. Parmann called the extra 20,000, and with both of our remaining ladies now at risk, the cards were on their backs:

Liu: {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Clubs}
Le: {K-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}
Parmann: {7-Spades} {7-Diamonds}

Parmann had flopped his lucky seven, and he was one card away from the double knockout. Le was already drawing dead, and in fact, she didn't even want to show her hand before the dealer made her table it. Liu just sat quietly, shaking her head in disbelief. The river was a blank {A-Diamonds}.

That sends Le out in 8th place officially, and JJ Liu out in seventh. On a day in which the Ladies' Event final table is playing out under the bright lights of the main stage, we ironically lose both of our ladies just shy of making their own final table berths. Both ladies put on impressive runs here this week, but both of them will go home early today. On their way out the door, both will stop by the cashier to pick up their checks for $21,991.
