Jaka v Negreanu

Faraz Jaka and Daniel Negreanu have been battling over on their table here in the Pavilion Room. In a recent hand Negreanu opened to 675, a player in the small blind called and so too did Jaka from the big blind.

The dealer flopped {7-Clubs}{7-Spades}{5-Clubs} and the blinds checked to Negreanu who continued for 1,200. Only Jaka called.

Jaka check-called 2,500 from Negreanu after the {10-Hearts} turned and both players checked after the {a-Spades} rivered. Jaka opened {K-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for tens and sevens and Negreanu mucked.

"I was protecting my five," he told Jaka.

Negreanu slipped to 6,400 and Jaka's stack just keeps on growing, pushing towards 70,000.

Yang Binks It

Jerry Yang had an opponent all in before the flop and at risk at Table 53.

Showdown
Yang: {A-Spades}{9-Spades}
Opponent: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Spades}

The {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{5-Hearts} flop was clean, and so too was the {10-Diamonds} on the turn. The {a-Hearts} spiked on the river though and Yang sent his opponent to the rail.

Yang is now our unnofficial chip leader with 71,000 chips to his name.

Chop It Up

This look like a man with two fours?
This look like a man with two fours?

Phil Hellmuth limped from under the gun and the action folded to Andrew Feldman in the small blind.

"Be careful," Hellmuth warned. "I limped in first position."

Feldman ignored the warning and raised to 2,000. The big blind released and Hellmuth jammed for only 1,000 more. Feldman called.

Showdown
Hellmuth: {A-Clubs}{K-Spades}
Feldman: {A-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran {4-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} and the rail erupted.

"You really thought you hand the best hand?" Hellmuth protested.

"Thought you had ace-jack," Feldman returned.

"ACE-JACK!?"

"Two fours?"

"TWO FOURS?!?!?!!?!!?!??!!?!"

Bing!

Nick Binger opened to 800 from under the gun and was called by two players.

The flop fell {A-Spades}{2-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and the big blind checked to Binger who bet 1,500. An early-position player called and the big blind folded.

Both players checked the {9-Clubs} on the turn and the {A-Clubs} on the river and Binger rolled over {J-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for aces and nines. His opponent mucked, and Binger is now up to 37,000 chips.

Phil Fibs

The board read {10-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades} and there was about 1,000 in the pot when Phil Hellmuth bet 425 into Andrew Feldman.

"On the river I'm going to bet 625," Hellmuth told him.

Feldman opted to call and the river brought the {9-Clubs}.

Hellmuth checked and pleaded Feldman to bet.

"Come on value bet me," he demanded.

Feldman obliged and bet 1,625. Hellmuth folded.

Beckman: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}
Opponent: {A-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

The turn and river landed the {3-Spades} and {7-Diamonds} to see Beckman hit the rail.
