More Chops

Christopher George
Christopher George

More chops than my local butcher's at the moment as yet another pot is split. This time it was Chris Tryba who was all in, up against Christopher George with cards turned over by third street.

George: {5-Spades} {8-Diamonds}/{3-Diamonds} {A-Diamonds} {Q-Diamonds} {5-Clubs}/{7-Clubs}
Tryba: {8-Hearts} {8-Clubs}/{J-Hearts} {J-Diamonds} {5-Diamonds} {4-Clubs}/{6-Spades}

Despite a scare on fifth street (Tryda screamed like a 10-year old girl when the {Q-Diamonds} hit the felt), George's final two cards were both black, but low enough to warrant half the pot with eight low.

George - 440,000
Tryba - 80,000

Tryba still low and my spider senses are tingling...

Chris Tryba Eliminated in 7th Place ($22,926)

Chris Tryba - 7th place
Chris Tryba - 7th place

Chris Tryba: {8-Clubs}{3-Spades} / {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} / {q-Hearts}
Christopher George: {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts} / {4-Spades}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Hearts} / {9-Diamonds}

Chris Tryba completed and Christopher George, who'd brought in, squinted and made the call.

George check-called another bet from Tryba on fourth street. Tryba was first to act on fifth and his action was to bet all in for his last 23,000. George squinted again and made the call.

"OWWW!" cried Tryba as he made two pair on sixth street - in the manner of a rock god rather than as though he'd stubbed his toe. But his celebration was extremely short-lived indeed, as seventh street brought George a set of nines and sent the popular Tryba to join his supporters at the rail.

Warga Misreads Hand, But Still Wins

Maxwell Troy
Maxwell Troy

David Warga was the aggressor, betting most streets until the river where it was checked down. Warga shrugged his shoulders and announced "just a low", but it soon emerged that he actually had a flush draw for a scoop. Troy looked about as happy as a penguin in a microwave.

David Warga: {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{9-Hearts}/{7-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
David Levi: {mucked on sixth)/{4-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{J-Spades}
Maxwell Troy: {X}{X}{X}/{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{J-Hearts}

Warga - 515,000
Troy - 255,000

Jonathan Bascom Eliminated in 6th Place ($31,046)

Jonathan Bascom - 6th place
Jonathan Bascom - 6th place

Jonathan Bascom got his stack in again, this time against Karina Jett - but once again he survived, taking half the pot.

He anted off for a while, and then the following happened.

Bascom: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades} / {3-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs} / {10-Diamonds}
David Warga: (XX) / {j-Hearts}{4-Spades}{8-Hearts} - fold
Maxwell Troy: {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} / {3-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{a-Clubs} / {6-Spades}

Bascom completed, and Warga raised. Troy reraised, and Bascom now attempted to call all in out of position. He took his chips back and waited for a while until Karina Jett decided to fold, and then he called all in. Both his opponents called.

Troy bet out on fourth street and Warga called. Troy bet out again on sixth street and this time Warga closed his eyes as though trying to enter a happy place where he had better cards than the ones in front of him. After a while he folded.

The rest of the cards were dealt, and Bascom's low failed to come in. Troy and his full house scooped the lot, and Bascom finally hit the rail.

Yalah!

To cries of, "Yalah!" from the rail (rough translation: "Come on!") David Levi scooped a big pot out of the hands of Maxwell Troy with a full house, aces full of queens. Troy's full house, deuces full of fours, didn't get a look in.

Levi's stack increased to 700,000. Troy's shrank to 380,000.

Warga's Stack Levi-Tates North

We're seeing so many big pots at the moment that players are going from comfortable to short stack within just one hand.

David Levi: {Q-Clubs} {3-Spades}/{Q-Diamonds} {10-Diamonds} {5-Hearts} {2-Hearts}/{9-Diamonds}
David Warga: {K-Hearts} {A-Hearts}/{10-Hearts} {8-Spades} {A-Spades} {J-Clubs}/{9-Clubs}

On this occasion, Levi had his many all in, and despite an admirable peel on seventh, wasn't able to find the right card. As a result, Warga jumped back up to 400,000 whilst Levi dropped to 550,000.

Kangaroos & Bungees

One players whose stack has witnessed more ups and downs than a kangaroo on a bungee is Maxwell Troy's. Having recovered superbly from his poor start, he's now right back up there after taking a pot of George who is down to 420,000 as a result.

Christopher George {5-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}/{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}
Maxwell Troy: {A-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{X}/{10-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}

This figure could be dramatically different in five minutes time, but, at the moment, Troy has circa 750,000.
