John D'Agostino's cards read when we arrived. He was all in, in a three-way pot, which was about to go to showdown.
"Please don't be an ace, please don't be an ace," we think he was saying, presumably in an attempt to reverse-will out the ace that would win him half the pot.
However, he squeezed out an eight instead, and his eight low was not as good as Felipe Tavares' eight low. Hoyt Verner took the other half of the pot with a pair of aces, and D'Agostino hit the rail with a min-cash.
Ng may have bet sixth street, but he put on the brakes on seventh, checking into Foti who made a bet. Ng tanked, but reluctantly made the call only for his fears to be realised: set over set. He's now down to just 3,000, whilst Foti is chasing the chip leaders with 90,000.
Dennis Seagle: / /
David Warga: (XX) / - fold
Felipe Ramos: / /
Felipe Ramos bet out on fourth street and Dennis Seagle raised.
"Oh don't do that," complained David Warga. "Guess I should give this up then." He folded.
Ramos called all in and revealed rolled-up jacks. Seagle turned over a low draw which came in on sixth street and they chopped it up.
Ramos was still rather short, but cries of, "YES! YES! YESSSSSS!!!" from his table a few minutes later suggested that he had probably just doubled up. A trip over to his table confirmed this theory. Ramos is now at 33,500.
We were unable to identify one of the players above as he appears to have eaten his player card, so he shall be briefly known as Mr. X. But his moniker is rather apt in a way, as he is now an ex participant in today's event having moved all in on an early street. Racener continued the betting, but in the end, it was a chopped pot with George taking one half of the pot with trip queens, and Racener the other with an eight low. Mr. X, meanwhile, was left to return to Mrs. Y back home.
Racener now right up there with the chip leaders on a meatalicious 125,000.
We arrived to see David Warga all in on seventh street and Manuel Bevand considering his options.
"I need a minute," he said apologetically.
Across the table, Hoyt Verner looked at his watch and said, "Go."
Bevand returned to his tank and sighed. We're actually not sure whether he called or not in the end, as we were distracted by some action at the next table, but when we returned Bevand was mucking his hand and Warga was showing him for a flush.
Bevand was at 40,000 after that, Warga up to 42,000.
