It's Oh So Quiet

We're beginning to miss Nicholas Mitchell and his boozy rail in here - it's all gone terribly quiet since they left.

"Guys, you can cheer or clap, or act like you're alive when a player wins a hand..." volunteered announcer Nikki, but this only elicited the vaguest of collective titters from the subdued crowd.

Having a Bad Daya

The dinner break couldn't have come any quicker for Aadam Daya as his stack heads further south than anyone in this three-handed encounter. After being three-bet by Deepak Bhatti (300,000 to a stonking 1,250,000 - fold), Bhatti called a raise to 360,000, blind on blind, versus Gabe Costner. Bhatti then called a bet of 550,000 on the {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop before checking back the {Q-Spades} turn. On the {9-Spades} river, Costner led for 1,400,000, which was enough to take the pot.

Check-Raise from Costner

With the silence of the crowd has come an increased tension at the table: this is no longer fun and frolics, but serious business.

With Deepak Bhatti folding his button, Gabe Costner limped from the small blind before calling a raise to 300,000 from Aadam Daya in the big blind.

The {8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop was followed by a check-raise from Costner, who added an additional 880,000 to Daya's continuation bet of 520,000. Daya let it go.

Dinner Time

What a time to go for dinner!

Nevertheless, our final trio have dispersed, and will return in an hour. We expect one of them to win a bracelet shortly threreafter.

Dinner, Done

Our finalists have returned from what we can only imagine was a reflective sort of dinner break, and cards are back in the air. Gabe Costner is our chip leader.

Aadam Daya Doubles Through

It took just two hands before we witnessed our first all-in, Gabe Costner raising to 475,000 in the small blind before calling Aadam Daya's reraise shove.

With the cards revealed, it was coin flip time, Daya looking for one of six outs with {K-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} versus {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}.

The {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{Q-Clubs} flop was clinical, but not decisive enough to cement victory, the {2-Spades} turn reminding Daya of the backdoor flush. However, neither a six nor spade emerged on the {K-Clubs} river, and Daya was able to pick up a potentially bracelet-winning pot.

Field of Shattered Dreams

It would appear as though Gabe Constner's dreams of bracelet gold are coming to an abrupt end as he loses yet another big pot, this time to Deepak Bhatti.

It was a curious affair in the end, and one which commenced with Bhatti three-betting Costner's initial button raise of 375,000 to 1,275,000 - a near half his stack - and Costner making the call.

On the {A-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades} flop, Bhatti, with his arms folded, tapped the armrest with a finger to signify a check and open the door for Costner, who fired out a bet of 850,000. Bhatti moved all in for not too much more, but it was just about enough to ellicit a disgruntled, and reluctant fold from Costner.

From chip daddy, to chip sonny, he is now down to around two million within just three or four hands.

Five whole hands went by where the player on the button raised and both blinds folded.

But on the sixth hand, everything changed.

Once again there was a raise from the button - this time it was Aadam Daya's turn to do the raising, to the tune of 400,000. But this time he didn't just get to pick up the blinds and antes - Gabe Costner shoved from the big blind, and Daya called in a flash.

On their backs.

Daya: {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Costner: in some hot water with {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

Board: {9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

"Ace, nine or queen," Costner softly requested on the turn, but it didn't come. From chip leader to short stack to busto in just a few hands - what a cruel game this can be.

We are now heads up, or will be in a few minutes. "I need a cigarette," said Aadam Daya and he and Deepak Bhatti wandered off. Play will most likely resume shortly. Although announcer Nikki is now threatening, "Deepak and Aadam to the final table table, please. We will start without you."
