One Grand Time Awaits -- the First $1K NLHE Event About to Begin

We are about a half-hour away from the scheduled start time for Event No. 3, the first of several $1,000 buy-in no-limit hold'em events this summer. Today will see the first of two day ones, and all are anticipating an enormous field -- perhaps one of the largest of all of the events in this year's WSOP.

Last year's Event No. 4 -- won by Steve Sung -- was the only open $1,000 buy-in event of the WSOP, and it drew a whopping 6,012 runners. Early indications are we'll see at least that many come out over today and tomorrow to take their shot in this one.
