More Chips for Nguyen

Mark Radoja raised, and Men Nguyen called to see a {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} flop heads up. Nguyen checked to Mark, who bet 225,000. Men then went back to his old tricks, check-shoving on Radoja. Mark quickly folded, and Nguyens cheering section had more reason to shout for their man.

"I can't lose now!" Nguyen said.

All You Can Eat, Baby

Nguyen is back in the hunt.
Nguyen is back in the hunt.

Jeffrey Papola opened to 160,000 on the button and Men "The Master" Nguyen called from the big blind.

The flop fell {j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} and Nguyen checked to Papola who continued for 225,000. Nguyen moved all in for 865,000 and Papola snapped it off.

Showtown
Papola: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Nguyen: {9-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

Everyone was standing in the ESPN arena as the dealer wrapped the table and delivered the {9-Hearts} on the turn. It didn't complete Nguyen's flush, but it gave him five extra outs.

The {6-Spades} was one of those outs, and after it fell on the river Nguyen's rail exploded. Nguyen himself gave a few Kobe fist-pumps and even a leg kick as the dealers verified the pot.

"You suck out on me," Nguyen said to Papola. "Now it's my turn baby."

Nguyen doubled to 1,960,000 chips and Papola slipped to 4,150,000.

Nguyen Gets Pushy

Men Nguyen limped, Jeff Papola called in the small blind, and Mark Radoja checked his option. The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}, and Papola and Radoja both checked. Nguyen bet 100,000, and only Radoja called to see the {6-Clubs} on the turn. Radoja checked again, and Nguyen moved all in for a little under 700,000. Radoja thought about calling, but thought more about folding.

"You want to make a deal?" he asked Men. "I show you, you show me?" Nguyen just looked away and didn't answer. A minute later, he responded. "I think you'll suck out on me."

"I just told you, that's what I do best," said Radoja, having fun tilting the Master. Mark folded with a laugh, and Nguyen showed him the {4-Clubs} for, well, who knows.

Radoja Nguyens One

Mark Radoja opened to 130,000 on the button and Men Nguyen tanked in the small blind. He asked for a count and the announcer said Radoja had about two million. Nguyen opted to call and Jeffrey Papola surrendered his big blind.

Nguyen checked after the flop fell {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and Radoja continued for 160,000. Nguyen called.

The turn brought the {8-Diamonds} and Nguyen check-called 180,000 from Radoja.

Both players checked after the {j-Spades} rivered and Radoja waited for Nguyen to open his hand.

"One pair," Nguyen said.

"Open your hand," Radoja basically commanded.

Nguyen showed {a-Spades}{5-Spades} for a pair of fives but Radoja showed a better pair; {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs} for a pair of eights.

Radoja won the pot chipping up to 2,370,000 and Nguyen is now in trouble with 870,000.

On Your Bike, Papola

Men Nguyen checked an {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} board, and Jeff Papola bet 80,000. Nguyen called, then checked again after the {5-Diamonds} on the river. Papola bet 150,000, and Nguyen quickly called. Papola turned over {4-}{2-} for the wheel. Nguyen showed {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} as he told Papola, "You play well. You suck out every time."

Nguyen Keeps Losing

Men Nguyen raised to 130,000, and after Jeff Papola folded, Mark Radoja made it 350,000 to go. Nguyen asked the TD to get a count for Radoja, hesitant to ask himself since he'd refused to give one earlier. The TD told Nguyen that Mark had about 1.5 million behind, and Nguyen made the call. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and Radoja bet 300,000. It only took Nguyen three minutes to fold this hand.

Papola Takes Monster Lead

Papola can taste his first bracelet.

Men Nguyen completed from the small blind and Jeffrey Papola raised 125,000 more from the big. Nguyen called.

Both players checked the {6-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop, and the turn brought the {8-Clubs}.

Nguyen checked, Papola bet 200,000 and Nguyen check-raised to 500,000. Papola quickly called.

The river was the {7-Clubs} and Papola bet 1,100,000. Nguyen went in the tank for over five minutes before finally grabbed two stacks of green T25,000 chips and pushing them forward making the call.

Papola opened {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for the nut-flush and Nguyen upsettingly showed {q-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} for trips.

After winning the monster pot, Papola has close to 5,000,000 chips and Nguyen is down to 1,700,000.

No Major Action

Coming off of break we've heard a lot of "the blinds release" and "he bets, he folds" thus far.

There has been little to no action and things are definitely slowing down.
